Could I use this name with DSs name?

DS is Jasper and we like Cassie if DC2 is a girl. My mum commented that they would both have names frequently given to pets and it has got me worried! I don't really like the longer names which can have Cassie as a nn.

Can I have your thoughts please.

I don't think of them as pets' names but they do sound very similar.

I would not consider then to be pets names, they are really cute together!

Thanks for your kind responses, feeling less worried already!

I don't think of Cassie as a pets name but it does sound wrong with Jasper to me (but then they won't always be lumped together in life will they).

What TheBuskersDog said.

I do have a cat called Cassie but even I don't think of it as pets name! I think they sound good together.

Think that´s your Mum´s way of trying to tell you she doesn´t like it-ignore & use the name you want!

I love Jasper-not keen on Cassie-but I think that they are fine together!

Usually, sibling names names are said with eldest's name coming first, so yours would be 'Jasper and Cassie.' However, I prefer the sound of 'Cassie and Jasper.'

Two sets of my cousins names were said with the youngest ones' name coming first; just sounded better that way.

I like the sound of Cassie and Jasper! Just ignore your DM: it's your baby, and Cassie is lovely :) (as is Jasper!) x

I think they're lovely names but my parents have had dogs called Jasper and Cassie! Cassie when I was a child and Jasper more recently. We actually wanted the name Jasper for our (at that point un-conceived) child. My mum swears blind that we'd not said anything about it to her when she named the bloody dog it! We definitely had told her... anyway, they're great names in my opinion!

I'm a dog groomer and do know a lot of Cassies & Jaspers but then I also know a lot of Alfies, Charlies, Rex's, Max's, Hollys, Lily's, Jessies & Rubys and they're common childrens names now.

It seems a lot of previous pet type names are very popular now so I don't think anyone will bat an eyelid.

It's a nightmare for me to think of names as I always seem to know a dog with the same name!

Whatever you choose after a couple of weeks you wont give it a second thought.

Not helpful to the OP (sorry) just to say to RetroOwl that my DS has the same (perfectly normal person name - William) as one of my MILs cats!
