I dont mind it though would be put off as the only Daniella I've heard off is the infamous Daniella Westbrook!!!!

squoosh · 12/07/2012 12:10

Westbrook

MammaTonic · 12/07/2012 12:17

I'm not keen, sorry. I think of tough, mean London girls with very long hair (or am I thinking of the Eastenders character, Sam Mitchell, played by Daniella Westbrook?)

Hmm, maybe it's my warped associations, but I'm still not keen.

Personally, I'd go for Ella, Elle, Elodie, Eloise, Danya, Danella, Darcy, Deana/Dena, Delilah, Didi, etc, instead x

I like Daniella. I have a very good friend called Daniella. It also shortens quite nicely to Dani.

bigbluebump · 12/07/2012 14:45

I like Daniela, but am not keen on the two Ls.

Stellan · 12/07/2012 15:38

Westbrook.

Gabriella is very pretty though and can't immediately think of any overpowering namesakes.

manicinsomniac · 12/07/2012 16:00

I think it's pretty.

crocodilesmiles · 12/07/2012 16:37

I think it's very pretty and underused - so likely to be only one in the class, if not the school. It's one of those names that is unusual but has the bonuses of everybody knowing how to say it, and also loads of choices for shortenings.

I like the Daniella spelling. Danniella Westbrook spells it differently.

StrawberryMojito · 12/07/2012 16:41

I prefer the Daniela spelling. I like it and also think Dani is nice.

amck5700 · 12/07/2012 17:37

If it's a female version of a male name, then I prefer Allanah to Daniella.

squoosh · 12/07/2012 17:40

Actually fact fans Allanah isn't a female version of a male name. It's an Irish term of endearment that a Mother would use for her child. I think Americans then started using it as an actual name.

Basically it's like calling your child Darling.

SilkStalkings · 12/07/2012 18:08

Nah, Daniella Westbrook has spoilt it with her cocaine-warped nostrils.
How about Donella or Adela?

PrettyInDecadence · 12/07/2012 18:49

I think it's nice, I prefer Danielle slightly though. Other parents might think of Daniella Westbrook, but people of her generation won't make that connection.

amck5700 · 12/07/2012 19:02

squoosh, that makes it even nicer :)

VolAuVent · 12/07/2012 19:39

I quite like it, it's pretty and underused. Rather 80s but there's an 80s revival isn't there?
