Octavia - www.behindthename.com isn't too bad a place to start looking for ideas either. They have a classical names section that covers the Romans and Greeks (ancient).

Calista it's greek and means Beautiful. I also love the name Calliope and wish I had been brave enough to use it for our dd1 but I was young and talked out of it, still love it though.

So many great names - thank you everyone. I am trying to convince DH of quite a few he is a bit cautious (dull) in his choices!
How do you pronounce Calliope?

Don't choose Caliope, pleeeeeeeze. sounds too much like calipers

CurlyhairedAssassin · 08/07/2012 00:24

Don't choose Octavia either. It's the name of either an ostrich (Pipkins) or a Skoda.
