Didn't want to find out the sex but as we could not decide on names we thought having to concentrate on one list would make it easier . But I'm just as undecided !! Please help !! We are having a boy :)

Noah
Jacob
Cole
Sebastian
Isaac

These are basically the best out of a bad lot tbh . I like names which are either biblical or surnames .

I like Jacob or Noah out of your list :)

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 30/06/2012 16:49

Jacob, Noah or Isaac. Well, I like Isaac but it's the most problematic for misspelling and mispronounciation.

Is that the list or can I add Joshiah and Gideon?

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 30/06/2012 16:50

*Josiah

WillowTheWitch · 30/06/2012 16:50

Tbh my fav it definitely Isaac . Hoooowever, it had a bit of a bad history with my family being the surname of some people my DH and other family members don't really like . So really I am looking for a name similar but I don't really have the inspiration.

I love Sebastian, it's one of my all-time favourite boys names. Isaac also good.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/06/2012 16:58

Love all of them except for Cole, which is horrible.

WillowTheWitch · 30/06/2012 16:59

What about Spencer ? I actually really like that .

OP posts:
HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 30/06/2012 17:24

Spencer is horrible.

I love all the rest on your list though.

Noah - love, but maybe a bit popular, no nice nn.
Jacob - love, not too popular and a nice nn option
Cole - not one I've considered before, but really like it and it's unusual, but not unheard of, no nice nn though
Sebastian - love, not too popular, nice nn choices (either Seb or Bastian)
Isaac - really like this as well, but it is my least favourite of your choices.

Geranium3 · 30/06/2012 17:31

I'm not keen on the use of surnames for 1st names but think noah is nice.
Not sure if they are biblical but how about:
silas
rufus
and my all time favourite...... raphael!
Good luck!

VolAuVent · 30/06/2012 17:45

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/06/2012 18:10

Elias and Luke both lovely.

WillowTheWitch · 30/06/2012 18:34

walking unfortunately I don't think I will be able to convince my DH about Cole either

OP posts:
WillowTheWitch · 30/06/2012 21:31

Also we have a boring Scottish surname so would like something unusual and slightly exotic to counteract the boringness Grin

mayanna123 · 30/06/2012 21:33

I prefer Cole - cool, masculine and not overused.

I really dislike the nicknames Seb/Sebby (sounds so soft and unmasculine) or Bastian (too close to bastard).

Noah, Jacob and Isaac are very widely used already.

WillowTheWitch · 30/06/2012 21:39

Totally agree may Bastian just sounds like bastard to me too !! Grin

Tigertots · 30/06/2012 21:53

Jacob = a lovely name!

arya7weasley · 30/06/2012 22:07

I know a Cole (spelt Coel) Hmm at first but really love it now, suits him.

Jacob - my favourite name for a long time, started getting popular so I switched to Noah and Isaac, same thing happens sigh lovely if you're not bothered about the popularity thing. I was one of about 10 with same name throughout school!

Others I like:
Jackson
Levi
Aidan
Elijah
Really like Harrison too :)

WillowTheWitch · 01/07/2012 08:40

DH has also just added Gabriel into the mix ? Any thoughts ? Smile

OP posts:
VolAuVent · 01/07/2012 11:39

Gabriel is very nice :)

applepieinthesky · 01/07/2012 11:46

Cole sounds very American but I like it actually.

Gabriel is a good one too.
