Do you like this name? It was invented by an 18th century playwright

My dh got a permanent job after years of contracts when a lady called Dorinda vacated a post! So I like it.

Sorry I think it's awful. It doesn't sound right, it sort of doesn't exactly role off the tongue. Think it sounds to made up like those names where they take change the first letter

Also are you Asian or Sikh? Admittedly it's not spelt in the same way but I pronounce like my Sikh friends names Narinder, Davinder, Jasminder etc

Wasn't one of the characters in "The Worst Witch" called Dorinda? Or am I thinking of "The Wizard of Oz?"

The girl in the recent CBBC Just William thing was called Dorinda, and she was lovely. I like it!

I don't like it - It sounds very dumpy(too many Ds) to me, like a mix of Doreen and Linda.

I quite like it, and DH liked at as it was in one of his favourite childhood books. I like the nn Dorrie.

My mum's cousin was Dorothy, shortened to Dorrie
