Anabelle is lovely (also Bella)

MerryMarigold · 21/06/2012 23:06

Abigail is the only one I really like. I know a Milly with a sister Isla, which I also like.

workshy · 21/06/2012 23:07

vote for Abigail :)

Staceisace · 21/06/2012 23:44

I like Abigail best - but that's because I'm a History graduate who admires Abigail Adams. I'd stay away from Evie and Bella as first names but Isabelle and Anabelle can both have Bella as a nickname. Sophia and Olivia are also nice. Imogen seems to becoming more popular and whilst I like it, for some reason I think it sounds a bit harsh? Especially with a sibling called Millie. I know two sisters called Millie and Bella, actually.

SaliFourth · 21/06/2012 23:51

I love Isabelle and Imogen.

ninjawomble · 22/06/2012 01:24

They are all nice names (but Bella is more a nickname to me) with Isabelle, Sophia and Olivia just edging ahead, but really you can't go wrong with any of them OP. I had Abigail on my list, but someone said to me " oh, sounds like a big gale" and it did put more off that name a bit. Have you thought of a middle name, also think if initials spell any thing unfortunate - that might help make up your mind.

Lannie33 · 22/06/2012 03:26

I like all your names. You can't go wrong. If you want to call her Bella, I'd name her Isabelle or Anabelle.

Lannie33 · 22/06/2012 03:27

PS i like Isabelle better than Anabelle

YodasMummy · 22/06/2012 08:09

I like Abigail, I think it's a lovely name & Abbie is is cute nn.
Isabelle & Evie are very popular at the minute, but are both lovely names if you don't mind her possibly being one of 2, 3 or 4 in her class.

smokeandglitter · 22/06/2012 11:37

Evie and Isabelle are my favourites.

bouncysmiley · 22/06/2012 21:00

Abigail is lovely

Fireandashes · 22/06/2012 21:04

Olivia and Imogen are two of my all-time favourite names; Abigail is pretty too.

MrsLetch · 23/06/2012 12:46

I'd go with Annabelle.

For some reason I just don't like the name Abigail. Compared to the others, it sounds more clunky to me and not as pretty. I don't like Abby as a nickname either I'm afraid.

I do like Evie and Isabelle, but there are so many of them around, that I would personally avoid those names. I could name at least half a dozen children under 5 named Evie or Isabelle, probably more if I stopped to think about it.

This leaves Annabelle. Pretty, classy, feminine but with the added bonus of not being too popular. I only know 1 child called Annabelle.

KosherBacon · 23/06/2012 13:01

I like them in exactly the order you posted-
Isabelle
Evie
Abigail
Anabelle

Thankyou all for your replies Smile xx

Isabelle or Imogen my faves. Wouldn't do Bella as given name but nice as nn. Not fond of Abigail.

GooseRocks · 23/06/2012 22:17

Isabelle.

manicinsomniac · 24/06/2012 03:11

Lovely choices!

My order of preference would be:
Abigail, Isabelle, Annabelle, Sophia, Bella, Olivia, Evie
