I love the name Anna. Surname is McKenna.
Is it too rhymey?

I do have other names I like but still really like the name Anna the best. Middle name prob Bridget after MIL

Other main preferred names on shortlist Caitlin, Erin, Clodagh.
Opinions please!

Sounds fine to me.

yellowraincoat · 18/06/2012 22:08

I like it.

FootballFriendSays · 18/06/2012 22:08

Sounds ok. Nice name.

QueenOfIndecision · 18/06/2012 22:10

sounds ok. morwenna mckenna too rhymey, anna mckenna is fine! and i prefer anna to the other names on your list. erin mckenna doesn't go well imo.

amck5700 · 18/06/2012 22:10

that is very similar to my own name (married name not my original one!) and I think it sounds fine :) We have 2 boys, but for girls we had Mairi and Kirsty which I thenk go well with the surname too.

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 18/06/2012 22:10

I think it is too rhymey (perhaps my accent)

I think Caitlin McKenna sounds really nice and I would pick that in a shot!

Erin McKenna sounds wrong

I am not 100% sure how Clodagh is pronounced!

amck5700 · 18/06/2012 22:11

my boys have names with a "k" sound at the beiginning and I think it goes well with McKenna.

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 18/06/2012 22:13

Yes - I think Kirsty McKenna sounds pleasing to the ear too so I can imagine your boy names do too

StellaAndFries · 18/06/2012 22:13

I like it :)

vinobaroness · 18/06/2012 22:21

Love Anna McKenna-good strong Irish sounding names. Caitlin also lovely. Clodagh McKenna is my fave though. Everybody Clodagh is pronounced Kloda.

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 18/06/2012 22:22

That's what I though.

I would go for Caitlin or Clodagh then. I think the name trips off the tongue nicely

PullUpAPew · 18/06/2012 22:25

haha at morwenna mckenna. I agree it is just the right side of rhymey and not too much.

amck5700 · 18/06/2012 22:26

my other halfs favourite name for a girl was Jenna.......nuff said!!!

StepOutOfSpring · 18/06/2012 22:29

Too rhymey

MacMac123 · 18/06/2012 22:37

Caitlin McKenna is better. More interesting and stronger sounding

soontobemumofthree · 18/06/2012 22:45

Thanks very much for opinions. Spent couple weeks trying to love the name Ann or Anne, like it but just don't love it!

vinobaroness - i have an Irish DH, glad someone else knows the name Clodagh, doesnt seem so hard/strange to explain pronunciation when you see someone else do it!

amck5700 - thanks, Mairi or Kirsty lovely names, definitely beat Jenna!

What are your other two called? I have Craig & Ciar

amck5700 · 18/06/2012 22:49

The thing is I quite like the name Jenna but immediately put it with the surname and laughed my head off and he just looked at me bemused until I said the whole name and then he groaned - I think he thought he'd come up trumps with a lovely name :o)

soontobemumofthree · 18/06/2012 23:00

They are James and Niamh.

My DH suggested Emma also, but Emma McKenna harder to say!

I really like Anna.

Lannie33 · 19/06/2012 02:15

Def not too rhymey. Sounds great and Anna is a nice name. I also like Erin on your shortlist. Never heard of Clodagh before (I'm canadian) so not sure about that one, but could grow on me :)

JoanOfNark · 19/06/2012 11:50

Too many n's

Mollydoggerson · 19/06/2012 11:53

Ciara McKenna is lovely as is Clodagh. I really like Anna as a name but I do think Anna McKenna is a bit rhymey.

MerryMarigold · 19/06/2012 11:53

Too many 'a's and n's', I think. Kirsty is great! Or Kirsten/ Kristin?

AKMD · 19/06/2012 11:55

Looks and sounds fine to me. Anna Montana and Jenna McKenna are too rhymey.
