Dc4 due soon. Already have an Alice,Freddie and Bertie. Any preferences?

Which name(s) do you think match best?

I woulod say no to Rupert as too similar sounding to Bertie. I think either Jasper or Florence would go well with the names you already have!

wigglemama · 15/06/2012 16:15

would doh Blush

MackerelOfFact · 15/06/2012 16:19

I like Rupert. Jasper is nice too but a bit of a 'dog' name IMO. I love Casper though and would call my next DS that in a heartbeat, if that's up your street?

Florence is pretty but very overdone at the minute, if that bothers you. I find Harriet a bit twee TBH but that's just me.

Puremince · 15/06/2012 16:19

Agree with wigglemama that Rupert and Bertie are too similar. I'd go for Jasper and Harriet (but I'm a bit biased as Harriet was on our short-list).

BonnieBumble · 15/06/2012 16:24

Jasper for the boys choice, Harriet and Florence both go really well. I actually thought that Bertie was a nn for Rupert so I definitely wouldn't go for that as it is too samey.

StepOutOfSpring · 15/06/2012 17:28

My preferences are Jasper and Florence. However I think any of the names would go well with the others.

ThisAintKansas · 15/06/2012 17:51

Jasper at a push, but they are both too posho for me.

Harriet is lovely. Hattie is a great nn.

DottieRose · 15/06/2012 17:52

Love Jasper and Florence! Your kids names are lovely btw!!

gladders · 15/06/2012 21:19

wow - we have exactly the same taste in girls' names! (dd was Harriet after 5 days of wrangling between Alice, HArriet and Florence!!)

jaffacakehips · 15/06/2012 21:28

Love them all!!!! GrinGrin

Jasper for me only as I went out with a Ru for the girls Harriet hands down as I think Flo will date!

Love you DC's names.

Hoti · 15/06/2012 21:48

Rupert is awful. Like all the others.

softhoney · 15/06/2012 21:54

Think we are leaning towards Jasper and Harriet. I like Florence but have a feeling it's getting popular.

Could shorten Harriet to Hattie too. Is Jasper shortened at all?

Bertie is shortened from Albert. Smile

Rupert and Harriet.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 15/06/2012 22:09

I think Albert and Rupert are too rhyming. Jasper is great, as are both Harriet and Florence.

A rather drawn out aside - I might go for Florence (Flo) rather than Harriet (Harry/Hatty) as all the sblings except Alice having a nickname ending in the y sound could bother me eventually. Although Alice could end up Ali and Florence could be Florrie so maybe not!

Jojay · 15/06/2012 22:14

We have a Jasper and don't really shorten it. He gets called Jas, Jazzy, Jazbo, various silly things, but it doesnt have a 'proper' shortening, iyswim.

Clearly, I prefer Jasper to Rubert Grin ,and I prefer Harriet to Florence.

I know a grown up Harriet who is known as Harry, which is fab on a girl I reckon.

Rhubarbgarden · 15/06/2012 22:44

I like Harriet.

Buntingbunny · 15/06/2012 22:55

Harriet, not mad on Jasper.

Ruppert bear or a bit posh

Florence is the girl in the magic roundabout.

I'm old you seeSad

Staceisace · 16/06/2012 03:39

I like Harriet more than Florence and Rupert more than Jasper - it's a shame Rupert/Bertie don't really go. Fingers crossed for a girl ;) it'd even up the ratio too!

Badgerina · 16/06/2012 07:54

Jasper. Harriet.

Rupert is just too rah, and Florence would need to be accompanied by a machine.

misslinnet · 16/06/2012 19:49

I think Rupert and Albert / Bertie are too similar, so would go for Jasper.

I like Harriet better than Florence, but I think both would 'match' with your other DC's names.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 16/06/2012 20:28

I have a Harriet and after much wrangling an Alice. They go very well together :)

DessieLou · 18/06/2012 14:49

I love Rupert but agree that it doesn't sound right with Bertie. I also love Jasper so that gets my vote along with Harriet. Beautiful names!

FunnysInLaJardin · 18/06/2012 14:51

Jasper and Harriet for me too. Lovely names

soontobemumofthree · 18/06/2012 21:46

I think Jasper and Harriet - but dont shorten it to Harry! Hattie possibly but I wouldnt shorten it at all Harriet is lovely the way it is!

WopBopALooBop · 19/06/2012 07:48

My name is Harriet Alice! You have great name taste Wink

And good decision with the Harriet spelling :) Harriot/Harriett/Harriette etc are just gross IMO.

I think Florence is v v popular at the mo, although it seems more and more baby Harriets are being born too!

I prefer Rupert to Jasper, but that's probably just because there was an annoying boy called Jasper in my class at primary school. Rupert is so cute but works well on a man too I think.

Wow sorry, v unhelpful post!!
