Stuart, George or Dominic?

What do you think? I don't think I've known any small children called Stuart since I was a child, but it was my Grandfather's name and he was amazing. Does it it sound odd for a baby now though? No special reason for George and Dominic, I just like them.

I like Thea for a girl.

I really like Dominic with Stuart as a middle name. I don't think Dominic Stuart 'Dudley' would be bad at all.

My brother's 18 and called Stuart - I think mum only chose it because she thought 'Stacey and Stuart' sounded like two good kids names to have...haha! It's a really normal name to me since I grew up around it but I don't know too many little ones called it. It has suited him throughout his life so far and the only nn he's ever had was 'Stu' and even then most people just stick with Stuart.

I like George too but don't like Dominic at all. I love Thea for a girl :)

i like Stuart and would have maybe used it for DS2 if i didn't know someone at work called Stuart . :)

go for it.

don't like Dominic because of nickname Dom i think.

i met a very cute tiny baby George recently, but not that fussed for the name tbh.

I think Dominic Stuart sounds great, too many little Georges around.

Stuart's a fabulous name and if it has a personal reason behind it's use then it's even more suitable. I find Dominic a bit pretentious. George is great but very popular.

Kaekae · 16/06/2012 17:15

I like George, not keen on Stuart at all. Reminds me of warts, childish I know!

yellowraincoat · 16/06/2012 17:16

George always has connotations of smug little children to me.

I love Stuart (maybe cos I'm Scottish, it's v popular there) and Dominic.

DharmaBumpkin · 16/06/2012 18:03

Dominic Dudley sounds nice, but Dom Dudley doesn't... I vote for Stuart! Lovely name :)

CJfromTheWestWing · 16/06/2012 18:10

stuart first, never goes out of fashion, but not too popular.

Then Dominic, cos it is nice.

George is totally unoffensive, but doesn't do a lot for me.

My 11 yr old is Stuart and my father and brother both Dominic!!
We chose Stuart because we live in Scotland and although you would think it would be common here, it isn't really- many more Callums, Camerons, Ewans etc. It never gets shortened to Stu or Stewie and we think it is a good strong masculine name that is classy and timeless.
