I am loving the name Thalia at the moment. I think its beautiful and different without being too weird and wacky! What do you all think? Also how would you spell it? I prefer Thalia but i worry it would get said wrong. I would say it Ta....lia.
We are thinking Rose for middle name as its a family name but i am a bit concerned as its such a popular middle name. What other names would you suggest?
Thanks x

There have been a fair few putative Thalias on MN recently, if that concerns you!

Spell Talia if you want Talia pronunciation - Thalia is Thay-lee-a.

I would spell & pronounce Thalia the same as you OP. I agree Rose is a nice but over-used middle name.

How about

Thalia Hope
Thalia Pearl
Thalia Alice
Thalia Kate
Thalia Sian

It's not a personal favourite of mine, but it is a perfectly decent name. I would say it as either

Tah-lee-uh

Or

Tar-lee-uh

Depends if you've got a posh voice or not! x

I know a Thalia pronounced Tar -lee-ah with the emphasis on the "Tar".

I would have pronounced it the same as the last post, but loads of people will get it wrong. Also it made me think of the Indian food thali, you know several servings of curry, rice and nan and dips all on one tray? Rose is really nice. How about Mae or Rae?

Pancakeflipper · 09/06/2012 23:26

There are a few Thalia's at our school and all pronounced
Thal-ee-a.

Used to know someone called Tertia. Slightly similar perhaps?
