gabrielle or gabriella?

hi, i'm new to mumsnet (29 weeks pregnant with 3rd baby). have noticed you all give great advice on names - so was wondering........

gabrielle

or

gabriella

dh is dead set on the former; i'm not sure. also, any reasons why you would prefer one to the other?

Gabrielle and Gabriella are both lovely, as the ugly "gab" sound isn't highlighted. However, nicknames like Gabby and Gabita just emphasise it, and it's horrible.

I prefer Gabrielle (Ella being fussier) but they are great names.

I prefer Gabrielle as it sounds softer, but as others have said this could be influenced by your surname. Both options sound great though
