DD is due imminently but we have no clue on names. DS is Thomas James, but we hadn't realised quite how many there would be in our area so would like something a bit more unusual, but not too out there or impossible to spell.

Current names we are thinking of are -

Delilah
Amelia
Mathilda
Flora (possibly Florence)
Kitty (Katherine)

DH likes Olivia, Isabella, Ava but I think they are a bit too popular, and I like Seraphina, Ophelia, Penelope (Nell), Romilly, Lydia, Viola but DH thinks they are a bit too woo.

Opinions? Suggestions?

Penelope, lydia and Viola are lovely.
Not wild about the list, but I think I like Flora the best (not short for Florence though), and Mathilda second nn Tilda.

FootballFriendSays · 06/06/2012 09:01

I like Lydia from your list. Sylvia is similar to it and just as pretty. I think all your other choices are quite popular ATM.

Llareggub · 06/06/2012 09:03

I love Romilly. If I ever have another I want a Romilly.

reddaisy · 06/06/2012 09:04

Love Viola. How about Juliet?

justtryingtodomybest · 06/06/2012 09:08

My sister's cat is called Delilah so that kind of rules it out for me!

jujak · 06/06/2012 09:12

We have friends who called their baby Delilah. We wasn't sure about it at first but now she's here it really suits her and is a lovely name... Matilda is on our shortlist..Along with Molly and Dorothy but looking at here it appears Matilda may be a popular name this year...... :)

Bonsoir · 06/06/2012 09:12

My DD is Flora and I have never, ever regretted my our choice! It is a great name.

I also like Violet, Clementine and Jessamy.

persephoneplum · 06/06/2012 09:13

How about Dahlia - my fave nature name.

kbsydney · 06/06/2012 10:36

we have a Matilda Florence and I love it! Other names we were considering to give you some ideas were India, Sarah, and Zara.

TheMonster · 06/06/2012 10:37

I love Flora! DP wouldn't have it on our list as he said it would encourage bullying in teenage years (Flora spreads easily - must be male humour). I like Ava too. How about Anya?

ArthurandGeorge · 06/06/2012 11:22

Not Amelia if you want something a bit different, it is very popular.

MarySA · 06/06/2012 12:07

I like Flora and Violet. Also Sylvia, Rosemary, Not so keen on Florence.

NappiesandGladrags · 06/06/2012 13:46

I love your list, although Amelia is my least favourite just because it's very popular

Susannah
Martha
Felicity
Beatrice
Sasha
Vivienne
Francesca
Madelaine
Honor

How about Ada as opposed to Ava?

Lydia i adore too, and Ophelia (although OH is a little like yours and wouldnt consider it ever! )

Phillippa?

DorisIsWaiting · 06/06/2012 14:28

My DD2 is Lydia and I love it!

Other name ideas we had for dd's were

Charlotte (nn lottie), Florenec, Beatrice, Alys,

I think of yuour current list Amelia is VV popular around here, Matilda is also quite popular ( love Tilly as a nn though) . I think Delilah would quite quickly tire of the Tom Jones Why Why Why connotations ( I can see school teachers playing on it...but that may just be me).

jaffacakehips · 06/06/2012 14:30

Love love Seraphina!

What about Josephine nn Posy?

jaffacakehips · 06/06/2012 14:31

Lots of Amelia's around here..SW England.

Ophelia: 'He feels her'...sorry lovely names, just wait for the jokes. What about Aurelia instead?

Fanatic · 06/06/2012 14:45

Matilda or Tabitha

lottiegb · 06/06/2012 15:07

I like Delilah and kitty best, also Romilly and viola. I think the others on your main and DH's lists are quite popular and I'm less keen on the rest of yours.

flopsy1974 · 06/06/2012 15:15

Love Delilah but don't think I would ever be brave enough to use it Smile I also really like Matilda. People on here will say it is very popular, but I have never come across any .

DialsMavis · 06/06/2012 15:18

Not Mathilda/Matilda... I have one and it's getting far too popular Grin
