Serena
Jenna

Elsa

Nina

My favourite boys' name is Theodore, so that's sorted (for now at least!) and DD is Cora - can you tell I like girls' names that end in 'a'...?!

I absolutely love Elsa (and Cora - good choice)!
Anna is lovely too but I like Hannah better. Not keen on the others.

emmyloo2 · 05/06/2012 13:55

Thalia - it sounds pretty, but I don't like how it looks
Elsa - Love
Thea - if you want to pronounce it with a 'th' and not a 't' then I like it a lot Grin
Nina - love this
Eliza - not keen

Eglu · 05/06/2012 14:20

I like
Stella
Thalia
Eliza
Thea

ellesabe · 05/06/2012 15:49

In my opinion...

Erica - meh
Stella - not keen
Serena - prefer Seren
Jenna - not keen
Thalia - quite like this
Elsa - lovely but becoming popular
Thea - lovely but would mean you could never have a theodore
Nina - dislike
Eliza - like
Anna - safe option

monkeymoma · 05/06/2012 15:55

Erica
Stella
Serena
Jenna
Thalia
Elsa
Thea
Nina
Eliza
Anna

the only ones I like are Eliza (but prefer it to be short for Elizabeth) and Anna
Anna is the best one IMO

LiteraryMermaid · 05/06/2012 15:57

Erica - dislike. Sounds a bit harsh to me.
Stella - OK
Serena - OK
Jenna - dislike. Sounds faddy and already a little dated.
Thalia - quite like this
Elsa - beautiful. Potential to get popular (a la Eliza)
Thea - pretty
Nina - nice
Eliza - love, but definitely on the rise. Have come across loads recently.
Anna - nice, classic but a little nondescript

Top choice would be Elsa, but Eliza, Thalia and Nina also good.

MoonHare · 05/06/2012 16:28

I like a ending girls names too.

Erica - like
Stella - not keen
Serena - not keen
Jenna - you probably don't remember but Priscilla Presley played a character in Dallas called Jenna Wade, so to me it's quite 80's sounding
Thalia - love this
Elsa - quite like
Thea - love this
Nina - OK but can't get 'Nina and the Neurons' out of my head
Eliza - LOVE this, it's on our shorlist for DC3
Anna - like

Also how about; Anita, Ursula, Tabitha, Martha, Rosa?

exoticfruits · 05/06/2012 16:40

I only like Eliza and Anna.

scaevola · 05/06/2012 16:45

Erica - OK
Stella -lager
Serena - like
Jenna - (in)famous porn actress
Thalia - lovely
Elsa - ok
Thea - like
Nina - like
Eliza - like
Anna - lovely

manicinsomniac · 05/06/2012 19:12

Erica - quite like it
Stella -not keen
Serena - not keen
Jenna - not keen
Thalia - quite like it
Elsa - quite like it
Thea - love it
Nina - not keen
Eliza - it's ok
Anna - like it

tigrou · 05/06/2012 19:53

Erica - makes me go urgh
Stella - a beer
Serena - also prefer Seren
Jenna - pretty
Thalia - pretty, but like Talia even more (first a pronounced like in father)
Elsa - lovely
Thea - OK
Nina - love it
Eliza - OK
Anna - pretty and timeless, but just a bit uninspired, especially beside Cora
Nina, Elsa, Jenna or Talia for me

mathanxiety · 05/06/2012 20:10

Erica -- too 80s; dislike
Stella -- love; has a bit of zip to it yet is classic in a Latin way
Serena -- love; timeless, classic, feminine name
Jenna -- really dislike; reminds me of Jenna Bush and all things Texas
Thalia -- really dislike; sounds like a part of a plant
Elsa -- love; like the northern European feel
Thea -- a bit wispy and sounds unfinished
Nina -- a bit wispy; I think if there's any chance your DD will be a large sort of girl, Nina wouldn't suit
Eliza -- love; 18th century feel
Anna -- love; classic, Scandinavian feel

So, Stella, Serena, Elsa, Eliza and Anna are my favourites.

kickingKcurlyC · 05/06/2012 20:14

I'm another a-ending-name-preferer for girls.

Erica, I like.
Stella, is ok.
Serena, quite nice.
Jenna, sounds a bit dated.
Thalia, pretty.
Elsa, lovely.
Thea, is ok.
Nina, love.
Eliza, really like.
Anna, really like.

I probably like Nina and Elsa best I think. But, hmm, I might be swayed to Erica, because I imagine it's less popular. But I might be wrong. And that might not matter one jot to you!

MarySA · 05/06/2012 20:20

I quite like Elsa and Anna. Not too keen on the rest.

NappiesandGladrags · 05/06/2012 23:25

Erica - like
Stella - love
Serena - like
Jenna - nope sorry
Thalia - like
Elsa - LOVE!!!!!!!!
Thea - LOVE!!!!
Nina - LOVE!!!!!
Eliza - ok
Anna - classical but a little dull imho! x

FlashFlood · 05/06/2012 23:37

Erica is quite nice, as is Anna, but not exciting or lovable. Nina wouldn't really work on a fat person, I don't think, so I wouldn't use it personally just in case. I don't like Serena or Jenna.

I love Stella, Elsa, Thea and Thalia and adore Eliza. All five were on our shortlist for dd1. Elsa, Thea and Eliza managed to stay on our shortlist for dd3. (We didn't use any, though.)

nasara · 07/06/2012 23:21

Thanks, everyone, for your honest input. A lot of you have confirmed some of my own opinions - such as Anna being lovely but a bit safe.

I wanted to update as I always feel a bit cheated when I have passed my opinion in similar threads and the OP never gives feedback!

I think Stella is my ultimate favourite, and DH loves it, too. Still working on convincing him that Theodore is our boys' name...

OP posts:
Devora · 07/06/2012 23:24

I love Anna, Stella, Thalia and Thea.

Buntingbunny · 07/06/2012 23:34

I love Theo,
Girls not Jenna (Jenner is a surname or a rat from Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nihm)

Anna is dull. I know an Anna with a more interestingly named DSIS and it just falls flat. The others are fine, Thea and Elsa are lovely. I'm torn on Stella because it's pretty, but I drink a lot of itGrin

Lannie33 · 08/06/2012 01:56

Stella, Anna or Thalia are the only ones I like. I don't hate any of them.
