Freddie for a girl

I went to school with a girl called Frederica which was shortened to Freddie and I always thought it was a cute name.

Thoughts? I don't really like Frederica, so could Freddie be short for something else?

Thanks

I know a lovely Freddie short for Frieda. Very cute!

Sausage I quite like Winifred, thanks

Pretty funnily enough that was my granny's name but have a relative called Freya and thought Freya & Freda were too similar (mind you Freddie and Freya aren't that different)

Winifred was my grandmothers name - she was always known as Winnie, but she hated both names!!

I don't think that Freddie works on a girl, sorry. But then, I am a fan of overtly girly names, so maybe it's just not to my taste.

Funny, along similar lines, I was just thinking about the name Billie - is that still in use these days?
