Opinions on Delilah, Aurelia and Maidie

DH hates them but REALLY trying to win him round. Deliliah can be shortened to Liliah, which I think I could possibly persuade him to go for as he likes Leila but what could Aurelia be shortened to? I don't want it to be Lia.

Also saw the name Maidie in a book today, quite like it but would appreciate opinions!

Also, any middle name suggestions for these? Can't be Rose (sadly!)

TIA :)

Very much like Aurelia, don't know that it really needs shortening? For middle names - do you want a flower based one? If yes then how about something from this list here.

Don't like Maidie as it sounds to me a bit like a Bertie Wooster type nickname for a maid-servant.
Delilah unfortunately just makes the song of the same name revolve in my head (thanks for that! Grin).

I love Dilly for Delilah. I like Cordelia too, which I'd shorten to Dilly as well, as Dilly is cute!!! (IMO)

Sorry, but Maidie is just awful. I agree with Moonlight re Bertie Wooster.. How about Maddie, short for Madelaine?

All I could think of when I read Bertie Wooster, aaas Bertie Bassett. I have serious baby brain.

Dilly is pretty. Actually, how would Lavender suit? (Dilly made me think of the song)

I prefer Aurora to Aurelia.
