Love Conrad and Seth! Lovely classic but not overused names.

Some are very widely used already (esp Ed, Tom, Toby, Ben, Oscar, James).

Edward - like but I find it a bit clunky
Benjamin - like
Tobias (Toby) - love
Thomas - like
Seth - love
Benedict - like, prefer to Benjamin
Oscar - like
Felix - like
James - like though it's a bit dull
Conrad - not sure
Arthur - like

I like Tobias, Benedict and Conrad.

Edward, James and Thomas are so common round here, that would put me off personally.

Benjamin - too jammy, rather wet
Tobias (Toby) - too Yuppie
Oscar - ditto
Conrad - too posh for me
Arthur - old man

LynetteScavo · 31/05/2012 17:59

All very good names;
Edward
Benjamin
Oscar
Felix
James
Conrad

Not too bad;
Benedict
Tobias (Toby)

I really don't like;
Thomas
Seth

Today I particularly like Conrad.

QueenOfTheGymBunny74 · 31/05/2012 18:01

LOVE Edward, so many nn to choose from too.
Felix - don't do it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2012 20:01

Edward - love it
Benjamin - fine
Tobias (Toby) - like it
Thomas - fine
Seth - totally and utterly detest this name, sorry
Benedict - gorgeous
Oscar -lovely
Felix - hate it, sorry
James - nice
Conrad - don't like: it sounds 'hard' and 'naughty' to me
Arthur - don't like

Bicnod · 31/05/2012 20:02

My boys are Oscar and James. Excellent names IMO Grin

SocksOnFire · 31/05/2012 20:18

I was persuaded again Benedict by a male friend of mine who had lived through teenage hell as 'Bendy Dick'

Edward (Teddy/Ted/Ned) is gorgeous, although Eddie Sucks.
Oscar, Seth & Arthur are all cool.

missingmymarbles · 31/05/2012 20:41

Edward - I like, and all nn's except Eddie
Benjamin - Like
Tobias (Toby) - Not keen
Thomas - Classic
Seth - Cool
Benedict - Don't like
Oscar - Lot of them about and not that keen
Felix - Really don't like
James - Meh (but think nn's of are quite cool)
Conrad - No, no, no but that's because I used to know one, who was (is, faik) a complete pillick
Arthur - I love this, and would nn Arty Grin

perplexedpirate · 31/05/2012 20:55

This is unheard of! I like them all!

A beautiful list - lots of good choices here. I've listed them in order of preference.

Arthur - wonderful, though I think it sounds best with a distinguished surname (sadly with my surname it would sound a bit 'old man'!)
Oscar - great - fairly popular but still manages to sound quirky
Tobias (Toby) - lovely - always think Toby sounds friendly and good-natured
Benedict - love it, but worry slightly that it sounds a bit earnest and religious?
Conrad - love this too, but would be seen as hugely pretentious where I live
Edward - nice, seems to be experiencing a bit of an upsurge lately
Felix - used to love, then taught one who was positively demonic, so it's slipped a bit (occupational hazard of teaching!)
Thomas - fine but ubiquitous
Benjamin - OK, a bit bland
Seth - can never get past Emmerdale/Cold Comfort Farm yokel connections!
James - classic and inoffensive, but (for me) dull

Littlecherublegs · 01/06/2012 13:50

Favs are Tobias and Benedict.

Also like James.

Not overly keen on the rest but all of them are nice enough and nothing too 'out there'.

exoticfruits · 01/06/2012 13:59

Edward
James
Thomas
Benjamin
In that order but not the rest-they are all equally as bad as each other.
