I like the sound of Asa but it always looks like an acronym to me (advertising standards authority or loads of others). I've seen it spelt Acer, like the tree- then you'd avoid confusion with the Swedish girls' name too.

I think I would stick with the original spelling as I believe it holds more weight as a male name than as a female Scandinavian name as the male biblical association goes back to 900bc!!

I love Ezra! Great name! It was top of my list until we tested it on the French side of the family and received terrible feedback since it is not in use in France.
