Help with girls names needed - I'm 40+3 today

Please have a look at a shortlist of names DH put together today. We could not agree on anything until now, so he actually surprised me with names that I actually thought of before but never mentioned in front of him.

Megan
Lauren
Carla
Lucinda
Madeline
Skyla
Farrah

I love Madeleine, don't mind Carla or Lucinda, dislike the others

Lauren is very nice, and can be shortened/played with.

Not keen on the others very much, very not keen on Skyla. Skye is better IMO.

Megan is my favourite, then Lauren and Carla (like Laura and Clara too).

Personally I'd go for Lucy instead of Lucinda, Skye instead of Skyla.

Megan - ok
Lauren - ok
Carla - not to my taste (can't stand current Corrie character, yes I know that's shallow)
Lucinda - lovely
Madeline - like
Skyla - sorry, don't like at all
Farrah - still in a Fawcett shadow, unless you are Persain

Love Megan and Madeline but not the others.

I like madeline and nice to shorten to maddie/maddy. I like skyla because it's different and can also be shortened to sky.

Lauren - nice, out of fashion at the mo
Carla - ok, prefer Cara
Lucinda - not keen, bit "princessy" for me
Madeline - lovely, though prefer Madeleine spelling
Skyla - no
Farrah - no

Basically anything except Lauren. What's wrong with Laura much prettier or may be I'm just showing my age.

I like Megan (almost had one of those myself) and Madeleine.

Carla - not keen. Prefer Clara or Cara
Lucinda - not keen but like Lucy
Madeline - lovely
Skyla - pretty
Farrah - pretty

Farrah is beautiful.

Names I would be happy to have:

Lucinda
Madeline

The above names aren't all to my taste but they are sensible, versatile names that will allow your daughter to be who she wants to be without pigeonholing her.

Names I wouldn't like to have:
Farrah

Inextricably linked with Farrah Fawcett in my eyes but otherwise not a bad pick! I think it is an Arabic name so if you like it because it'll reflect part of your daughter's heritage, I think it'd be easy to get beyond Fawcett!

Names I really wouldn't like to have:
Skyla

Skyla is just supertrendy. Part Kylie, part Skye, part Kayla? In any case, I'm not sure I'd want to introduce myself in a professional setting as Skyla. It sounds a bit 'bimbo'-ish to me and I don't think I'd want to be landed with a name that marks me out like that. (I should add that, as far as names go, I'm more likely to pick John or Jane than Skyla or Rex.) I believe Skylar is the more common spelling, itself a simplification of a surname (Schuyler).

Megan - alright, personally wouldn't choose it
Lauren - dislike
Carla - dislike
Lucinda - Love Lucy - lucinda is a bit twee
Madeline - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Skyla - Skye is nice
Farrah - Personally wouldn't choose - but if you are arabic then its' a nice cultural name.

Megan- OK, quite popular, love Meg as a NN
Lauren- no, too many naughty Laurens from our local secondary school swearing on the bus!
Carla - really nice, as previous posted suggested, love Cara and Clara aswell
Lucinda - posh but quite nice
Madeline- Ok but it is spelt Madeleine isn't it?
Skyla- hideous. Sounds like a made up american name. Prefer Sky
Farrah- not unless you have arabic connections

Megan- My favourite out of your list, like Meg as a nickname
Lauren- know a few baby Lauren's born recently, pretty name but seems a bit 80s to me
Carla - not keen, prefer Cara
Lucinda - pretty, quite "posh"
Madeline- Like, nice nicknames too
Skyla- Stripper name
Farrah- Fawcett -no

thank you all for your honest opinions. I really like Megan, but DH is not too keen, so we might compromise and go for Lauren or Laura. At least we agreed on the middle name - Jessica.
