When do the national statistics for the previous year's naming come out?

Just that, really. When we get the 2011 stats?

If I remember rightly I'm sure it's September time. I have no idea why it takes them 9 months to put them all together!

The 2009 stats were due in September, but didn't end up coming out until October. Boo!

The 2010 stats were due in September, but they surprised everyone, by releasing them in August. Yay!

Lets hope they're early again this year, maybe even earlier. fingers crossed

As for why it take so long, well I know someone who works for the Office of National Statistics, and because of having to streamline staff a few years back, they've had to make certain things lower priority.

Sadly includes the baby name data, which while disappointing is understandable, as it's not as important as stats on (say for example) health/life expectancy etc.
