Ok, still struggling to settle on a name for ds3. This is about my fifth thread on the subject now!

We have a Dylan and a Miles..

We are now considering Travis Morgan

Surname starts with a D, 3 syllabils.

Opinions please!Smile

debi thanks for that info! That's interesting as we live 5 mins from the sea and that was part of the reason we chose Dylan (it means something to do with the sea, can't remember exactly what now!). Also, we have a Scottish surnameSmile

I know a 4yo Travis, think it's a great name! I've never really loved the name Morgan personally but I think they do go together.

Travis goes well with your other DS's names, more so than Harrison imo.

I love Travis. There should be more of them. Dylan, Miles and Travis sounds brilliant. Go for it.

Kveta · 16/05/2012 13:25

I'm not a big fan of the name Travis (you know my taste in names is common classic in the extreme though :o)

But I think Harrison sounds good with your surname - and with your other DS's names. I think Morgan would sound fine as a middle name with Harrison and your SN though, in fact I think it flows really well :)

for other scottish names:
Hamish (I LOVE this name, it's a really happy name to me!)
Struan
Stuart
Graeme
Archie
Aiden
Blair
Barclay
Boyd
Calum
Ewan
Kier
Lachlan
Moray/Murray
Ross

Thanks birdSmile

Thanks Kveta for the suggestionsGrin

I'm still struggling to settle. The only thing I can say at the moment is that when I imagine looking at my newborn and calling him a name, Harrison seems more 'right' than Travis, not sure why..

I suppose Harrison Morgan does kinda go.. Will have to discuss with dh some more I think!

How about
Jackson
Lorcan
Lochlann
Hayden
Bennett
Grant
Landon
Wyatt
Owen
Corbin

I think I like Harrison more than Travis.

GnocchiNineDoors · 16/05/2012 17:09

Maybe you should wait until you see him, then, OP? I named DD as soon as she was born then spent the next two days calling her the cats name.

Just wait til he is here, then see what feels 'right'

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 18:38

math Out of them I like Bennett but its my bils name Grin

Gnocchi I might end up doing that, the idea scares me though as I had both ds's names chosen before I had them.

As well as the builder's merchant Travis Perkins, there is a big (international) engineering company called Travers Morgan.

I like Travis.
I like Morgan (know both boys and girls called this).
I don't like them together for a person.

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 19:08

Thanks bikeSmile

Dh just said Travis isn't working out so guess its not right after all.

With the other 2 we just knew the names were right but it just feels like we're scraping the barrel this timeSad

OP posts:
thegreylady · 16/05/2012 19:11

To me Travis is a tractor! I really like Morgan and think it goes well with the other two.

thegreylady · 16/05/2012 19:13

Elliot
Bryn

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 19:14

Grin at Travis the tractor!

I really like Morgan too, just not sure I like it enough for it to be his first name. Plus,
I'd rather not have another 'M' as we have MilesSmile

OP posts:
DairyNips · 16/05/2012 19:14

GrinElliot is Miles' middle name.

Not sure about Bryn..

Badgerina · 16/05/2012 19:17

I extremely don't like the name Travis. But I extremely DO like the name Morgan.

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 23:54

Grin Thanks Badger

If your surname is 3 syllables and you have Harrison as a first name, it'll be a long process filling out forms for the poor kid. I like Harrison a lot but just thinking it'll be a writers cramp kinda situation!

DairyNips · 18/05/2012 12:02

I see what you're saying.. My dh's first name has 3 syllabils though and he manages okSmile

OP posts:
DairyNips · 18/05/2012 12:02

Syllables Hmm

Janoschi · 18/05/2012 12:13

Damn it. Grin

And to think I'm such a pedantic grammar and spelling Nazi myself.

The shame.

Janoschi · 18/05/2012 12:16

Ooops. Mumsnet missed the previous messages out for a bit. Thought you were pointing out some bad spelling from my side!

Sorry. More shame.

DairyNips · 18/05/2012 12:39

Grin no it was my bad spelling!

OP posts:

Travis is a cool name and I love Morgan too. Way more interesting than Harrison - just because he'll inevitably be called Harry and it's a very common name.

If you want my tuppence worth...

DairyNips · 18/05/2012 15:03

That was the thing that held me back regarding Harrison when we first considered it. We really don't want people to call him Harry..
