..or Marcus or Douglas?

We've decided on Tamsin Margaret if DC3 is a girl but completely stuck if a boy! We've narrowed it down to either Fraser Michael, Marcus Robert and Douglas Robert but can see flaws with each name.

We would love impartial advice - can you see anything obviously wrong with any and which is your favourite?

I like the 'z' spelling, now you mention it hubba

He does usually have to say it's Frazer with a z, but I have to admit I prefer it... I'm biased though...

Were two of the flaws you found that the second name makes the initials Mr. and the third name the initials Dr.? Although I don't think those initials are flaws, they're funny if anything, especially being a Dr. from birth!

That said, Fraser is my favourite as well.

BringBack1996 · 14/05/2012 09:17

I hadn't noticed that! I also think being a doctor from birth would be great :o

Another vote for Fraser!

BringBack1996 · 14/05/2012 20:01

I'm glad it's pretty universally liked! Probably our first choice, however I like the fact that we have three so if he (or she!) doesn't look like the name we've initially chosen we have back ups :)

Thanks ladies!

DH is Fraser so I love it - I am biased though but it's a classic.

Only problem that presents itself is the spelling. People always want to call him Frasier and spell it either Frazer, Frazier or Frasier - never Fraser which is the easiest as far as I can tell!

I think it's classic and underused and definitely my favourite out of the three.

Fraser is a lovely name. Douglas is nice too. Marcus is a bit poncy, but ok-ish. Come to Scotland - there are busloads of old Frasers here!!

StetsonsAreCool · 15/05/2012 21:09

Love love love Fraser.

I know two grown up ones, a teenage one and a child one. No babies yet (hoping someone won't get there before me, I like it that much. Yes, I know IABU)

I think it flows best with your other DC's names too.

I like Douglas/Doug second best. Again, I know a couple of grown ups and a teenager called Doug/las.

Marcus is waaaay down the list for me. It's a bit posh-boy for my tastes, but not altogether a bad name. I think the Marcuses I know/know are just a bit, well, wet. Sorry.

BringBack1996 · 15/05/2012 21:10

I'm surprised Marcus is seen as posh, maybe Mark is seen as being less so?

Fraser. Love the name which is why dc3 is called Fraser Wink.

Fraser is the best of the bunch. Nice Scottish name.
