At the moment our shortlist consists of the following -

Rex
Idris
Saul
Roman

Kerensa
Astrid
Delilah
Kezia

What are your opinions on these names, do they work with DD's name, Hebe, and can you suggest any others?

hebe and rex and hebe and saul sound good together,
possibly hebe and kezia
fiona?
josephine?
freya?
oscar?
ned?

Lannie33 · 11/05/2012 15:54

Rex, Roman and Delilah are the best! The one on your list I would avoid is Astrid, as nn Assy would be suboptimal. :)

Montsti · 11/05/2012 16:19

I like Astrid (followed by Delilah) but not keen on the others....Roman is my favourite of the boys names...for some reason I think of a porn star when I hear Rex - not sure why - sorry!

bamboozledAardvark · 11/05/2012 16:20

Hadn't considered Assy as a nn, definitely putting me off the name a bit! That's good though as hopefully it will help us cut down our shortlist :)

Freya and Josephine are both lovely, thanks!

I know it doesn't really matter, but because Hebe is pretty unusual and so Greek, I think it would be a bit odd with Astrid or Kerensa, which are so...not Greek.

MoonHare · 11/05/2012 17:07

Love Astrid and Roman.

My cousin is an Astrid no one has ever called her Assy in her life! Why does it need a nn?

I have a Hebe and I think Kerensa is a beautiful name and goes very well.
My Hebe's siblings are Jude and Lily.
What about India or Spike? They would be mu choices for a DC4

bamboozledAardvark · 12/05/2012 14:00

Jude is lovely, and agree it goes beautifully with Hebe Wink

Juliet is also lovely, although I would probably be inclined to spell it Juliette, not sure though.
