I have often considered Caspar as a possible name...it both looks and sounds beautiful imo however there is that blasted cute ghost which I think is a major factor in this name not being more popular!! Though in the last year I am after hearing of 4 little Caspars is it starting to become more acceptable as a name......what are your thoughts????? Smile

I know of one Caspar 2 years old. It does say friendly ghost to me but don't let that put you off if you love it. One of my DDs has a name with connotations that others often say would put them off - good, you don't want everyone to have the name!

My brother is called Caspar. He is 37! The only time he was ever slightly teased about his name was when we spent a year living in the USA because the friendly ghost was so popular over there. It's a lovely name and has worked well for him as a child and an adult. He went to a standard comprehensive school like me and was never teased for it and this was in the 80s when the only Caspar anyone had heard of was one of the three kings. It's becoming less unusual now though. His friends call him C or Casp.

I think it's lovely - the film was nearly 20 years - I wouldn't worry about it. not at all biased as it's on my list, too

Brilliant name. My DDs boyfriend Hmm is a Polish boy called Kacper.
I love the name, and Linus which is a huge departure from my normal cry of Duncan.

Oooh I like Linus. He's DS's most favourite Peanuts character (he models himself on him a bit - not the blanket-loving bit, the sardonic intellectual bit)
