Edward or Albert?

So DC2 is definitely another boy. I am terrible with boys names but think we are down to these two and really like both. I am a bit worried Edward is getting really popular but I love Ted as a nickname. Also our surname starts with a W, and although its not as awkward as Edward Woodwood it still feels like a bit of a stumble to say. Albert / Albie would probably be my first choice but DS1 name starts with an A too and I think it nice to have a different initial. Am I over thinking this??? Any thoughts? Thanks! Smile

Edward/Ed is so dull, sorry. Albert is quite nice but Albie along with Alfie, Archie etc are going to start to sound dated soon imo.

Agree that Edwin is lovely (and still quite underused).

Oooh you have an Arthur! I am very jealous. I think then it should be Edward rather than Albert, because perhaps Albert and Arthur are too similar.

What about George? My DS is George and if we have another DS then both Arthur and Albert will be on the list.

What about Ernest? I prefer Edward to Edwin or Edgar. Ernest is great though!

Rather liking Edwin / Edwyn at the moment - though need to convince DH. emmylou - we love George but a very close friend has one so its a no unfortunately. DH loves Ernest, I can't get past "Ernie the fastest milkman in the west" I am afraid!

ALBERT ! i have one and love it , now he's abit older he gets AL alot!

We've got an Edward who is always Ed. However at 16 he has got about 5 other Edwards in his year at school! On that basis I would probably go for Albert.

Otherwise, if you like the nn Ted how about Theodore?
