Which spelling looks most usual or sensible?

Annabelle
Anabel
Annabell
Anabelle

Or another that I've missed!

Thanks!

I think annabelle and annabel are most popular ways of spelling this but whatever you choose people are likely to misspell it so just choose what you like best!

NappiesandGladrags · 06/05/2012 22:19

Annabel

step dd is Annabel and i love the spelling - looks elegant and classic (and no not made up, i have seen many others spelt this way!) xx

Sophiesmummie · 06/05/2012 23:03

We have an Annabel and it is often mis-spelt: Anabell, Annabell, Anabelle etc. even amongst her friends....so be prepared for that Smile. Still love it though.

mangomadness · 06/05/2012 23:21

Definitely Annabelle

CarriMarie · 06/05/2012 23:55

I think Annabel looks best, any extra letters make it too fussy and are unnecessary imo.

SodoffBaldrick · 07/05/2012 02:45

I also like the one you missed out best - Annabel. The others are too frilly.

mrsXsweet · 07/05/2012 10:32

Our daughter is spelt Annabelle. To me the traditional spelling looked unfinished and a little ugly, but I was initially very embarrassed to be spelling it 'wrong'. I'm used to it now and think the Annabelle spelling is very pretty.'

mrsXsweet · 07/05/2012 10:36

Also when we deciding on spelling and we asked people how to spell it, everyone of our generation (late 20's/early 30's) said with the le on the end. Our parents generation said the traditional way.

TheFallenMadonna · 07/05/2012 10:36

Annabel.

LynetteScavo · 07/05/2012 10:39

I think it depends what you might want to shorten it to.

I like the name Anna, so would be tempted to go with Annabel.

If you might want to shorten to Bell, the go with Anabelle.

Plonker · 07/05/2012 10:39

Annabel

MrsPlanB · 07/05/2012 14:09

Annabel.

Annabelle is naff.

Eglu · 07/05/2012 14:11

Annabel, is classic and looks best I think.

DD has that as her middle name.

Ephiny · 07/05/2012 14:18

I like Annabel best, Annabelle a bit too frilly/fussy for me (though if you don't mind that it is a pretty name).

Don't like it with the single 'n', just looks like you've spelled it wrongly!

LittlePandaBear · 07/05/2012 16:22

I prefer it Annabelle, but then I love frilly girls names! It looks more complete and a proper mixture of Anna and Belle.

trikken · 07/05/2012 16:25

Mine is Annabelle, again its looks unfinished otherwise.

I dont know any other Annabelle's though.

welovesausagedogs · 07/05/2012 16:42

Anabelle

PercyFilth · 07/05/2012 17:01

Annabel

PrincessWatermelon · 07/05/2012 17:16

Seems a real mix between Annabelle and Annabel then! Thanks for the input. This will be the middle name, so abbreviations won't come into it, I suspect. Think I'll try writing her full name down and see what looks right.

Thanks again!

Annabel-the other looks like two names-as if they should be hyphenated:- Anna-Belle

MirandaGoshawk · 07/05/2012 17:30

Annabel.

Possibly Annabelle but this does look like 'I'm trying to be French'

MockCroc · 08/05/2012 06:20

Annabel.
