Does this sound too similar?

DC2 is due soon. Our current girl's name idea is Ariana Flora.
We currently have a DD whose middle name is Rosa (first name same number of syllables as Ariana and also ending in 'a').

We really like it but are slightly aware of the similar sounding-ness...but does it really matter? No one really uses middle names day-to-day so wouldn't really know, right?

Opinions please!

My dd's have middle names Joy and Jane which now I come to think of it are quite similar and I had never noticed before.

And both names end in -ia which I didn't notice until dd2 was about 4 weeks old.

Clearly I need to pay more attention Wink

It sounds fine to me

think as long as DC's name doesn't start in A as well, then you are OK. A lot of siblings have names that both end in a. And middle names are not often known (to those outside family) anyway

No both names would start with different letters Smile

Sounds fine to me. Especially if the first names begin with a middle letter - that's what most people will notice. It might be nice for the sisters when they grow older to both have a 'flower' middle name... if they get married and change surname they'll still have an onomastic connection! (Or maybe I'm getting carried away...)

That's what I thought too (re having a connection with flower name) but wondered if it was a bit twee.

The baby will probably end up being a boy now having spent all this time on a girl's name Grin

I think Ariana Flora is a beautiful name.

Plenty of people do flower themes for first names, so I don't see the problem having flower middle names and a similar rhythm for their whole name.

I actually love Flora Ariana Smile ................
