Thoughts on the name Paige for a boy

DP and I know we're having a baby boy and can't agree on names. We both quite like Paige but it doesn't seem very common/popular as a boys name and I'm worried it's quite feminine.
I would appreciate your thoughts and whether you think our DS would get bullied with this name. Thanks

I think it's a girls name, sorry Sad

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/05/2012 22:29

Not sure about getting bullied, but I think that a lot of people would assume that he's a girl until they met him.

It is a very feminine name IMO.

OneLittleBabyTerror · 01/05/2012 22:29

It's a girls name, sorry.

AceOfBase · 01/05/2012 22:30

I have only ever met females with that name and would think it feminine. Do you have any other suggestions? At the end of the day you can name your baby whatever you like but if you were going to go for something like that I would give him a "normal" middle name.

diedandgonetodevon · 01/05/2012 22:31

Just seeing the name written down, I'd assume the child was a girl I'm afraid.

BunnyLebowski · 01/05/2012 22:31

It's a horrible girl's name.

And a truly cruel boy's name.

Springforward · 01/05/2012 22:32

I think it's a girl's name, too.

scottishmummy · 01/05/2012 22:42

lol might as well call son Emma
it's as much girl name as Paige

AKMD · 01/05/2012 22:48

I've never seen it used as a boy's name and I think the vast majority of people would assume he was a girl until they actually met him, sorry.

Whysoserious · 01/05/2012 22:48

Wasn't there a boy Paige on X-factor once? I think it's fine as a boy's name, it's fairly unisex.

Glzy · 01/05/2012 22:51

Fair enough... That was my worry Blush There was the guy in XFactor a couple of years ago called Paige (although I think he was spelt Paije, not that that makes much difference as pronounced the same) and I didn't think his name was that odd at the time so thought we may get away with it.
We have loads of other options, just nothing we can agree on!

Cuthbert, Ptolemy and now Paige. For a boy!

I despair of the world.

ripsishere · 02/05/2012 11:01

Call him Tracy and have done with it.
Paige/Paije, however you spell it, it belongs on a girl. Or a dog.

HollyGoHeavily · 02/05/2012 11:02

It's a girls name...

schroedingersdodo · 02/05/2012 11:03

Why would you call your son a girls name?

Hullygully · 02/05/2012 11:05

What about Calendula?

That's sweetly pretty

Showmethemhappyfeet · 02/05/2012 19:11

I don't mind unisex names as a general rule, but really think Paige is too Girly

EssentialFattyAcid · 02/05/2012 19:12

I would assume Paige was a girl
I don't think your ds would thank you for this name

nagynolonger · 02/05/2012 19:13

It's a girls name. Save it for any future DD.

ipanicked · 02/05/2012 19:18

I know a lovely female Paige. It's definitely a girls name for me, sorry.

picnicbasketcase · 02/05/2012 19:21

Paige is a girls name. Maybe spelled Page, it looks more masculine then but it still sounds like feminine I'm afraid.

keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 02/05/2012 19:22

Too girly, sorry Sad

thegreylady · 02/05/2012 19:54

A version of 'a boy named Sue' I fear;please dont do it.

InnitDoh · 02/05/2012 20:06

vile for a girl, worse for a boy.

MoonHare · 02/05/2012 20:42
