Love both but Hugo best

pegster · 29/04/2012 20:12

I have a Freddie (Frederick) and it suits him perfectly, very cheeky, smiley little boy. Hugo sounds very grown-up to me

CobOnTheCorn · 29/04/2012 20:13

Definitely Hugo

Mrsmonkfish · 29/04/2012 20:16

Love both (presuming you live in England)

CountessOlenska · 29/04/2012 20:19

Freddie. Love it.

WithACherryOnTop · 29/04/2012 20:27

Hugo is lovely.Freddie isn't.

BBQJuly · 29/04/2012 21:15

Freddie (short for Frederick) is very nice.

Hugo is too rah.

LouMacca · 29/04/2012 21:22

Both ok but if I had to choose I would go for Freddie.

MrsJohnDeere · 29/04/2012 21:35

Like Hugo but love Freddie

mellowcat · 29/04/2012 21:37

Love Hugo - Hugs as nn

spendthrift · 29/04/2012 21:40

Love both, but would want Freddie as the nn so he could change if he liked. Love Hugo to bits.

ThatGhastlyWoman · 29/04/2012 21:46

Both rah. Are you rah? If so, what the hell, go for whichever you like best!

Hugo sounds like 'He Gay' to me, often, owing to the accents of the people I've heard pronouncing it. I marginally prefer Freddie.

Migsy1 · 29/04/2012 21:48

Hugo - too rah. Freddie is quite cute.

RetroMum1 · 29/04/2012 21:55

I love both, great names. I am due with a boy in September and have chosen our name but last night I suddenly felt him kick and randomly thought that's Freddie! It was really weird as we hadn't mentioned the name but I must really like it!

Emmiedarling · 29/04/2012 22:18

Oooh thanks for your opinions!! I am a bit rah to be honest but not stupidly so! ;)

Love both (assuming Freddie is Frederick) and both would be on my list if I have a DS2. However, marginally prefer Hugo, which I think is a fabulous name. I have always loved it.

ThatGhastlyWoman · 30/04/2012 07:35
Grin

Good luck, I hope you enjoy him whatever name you choose.

emmyloo2 · 30/04/2012 07:35

What does "rah" mean?

MummysLittleSunbeams · 30/04/2012 07:41

For me Freddie is definitely more rah so I'd go for Hugo (which is still pretty rah IMO)! Grin

Fuchzia · 30/04/2012 07:53

Rah = posh. Was keen on Hugo for DS2 until I walked past a mother trying to get her kids into a sliver range rover yelling 'Huuugo! Occctavia!' in her vair posh voice. Did put me off a bit so think I would plump for Freddie on that basis

YouFloatLikeAFeather · 30/04/2012 08:46

Love Hugo

Don't like Freddie at all, sorry

MoonHare · 30/04/2012 10:29

Prefer Freddie, though not keen on either really. Especially don't like Hugo.

Montsti · 30/04/2012 17:21

Love Freddie as a nn. for Frederick. In fact would've been this baby's name if it had been a boy! Hugo is ok but not really to my taste..

PercyFilth · 30/04/2012 17:38

I do like Hugo, but Frederick will give him a lot more options. It has to be Frederick though, not just Freddie. It's not fair giving a child just a nickname.

theroseofwait · 30/04/2012 23:03

I love both Freddie and Hugo, but really dislike Fred. I don't know why. When I was pg with DS2 I asked a couple of the teenage Freds I taught whether they were Freddies when they were little and they both said yes.

Made me realise that a Freddie may not stay a Freddie forever and so we have a Hugo.

Oh, and the most popular apparently teenage team member's name in last month's Shooting Gazette was Freddie, there was loads of them!! How's that for a 'rah' credential?!
