It's the name of a 90 year old great aunt.

My sister is called Charlotte which I have shortened to Dot. It suits her. Charlotte could be shortened to Dottie but would also give you other options longer term.

She really does need a proper name as well. So Dorothy or, maybe, Dora.

We have a very silly book about a dog called Dottie and Dorothy is an 80+ old lady. Just no!
