final choice for ds due in six weeks really can't decide which do you like dislike.

Matthew James. Dislike Lucas, sounds too americanised or a surname.

James - lovely classic name.

Lucas - personally not keen, prefer Louis.

Matthew - Not keen, more popular in the 80s/90s.

I like James. Meh on others. "Luca" is more trendy than Lucas.

I like all of them! Don't think you could go wrong with any of those, so no need to worry about picking the wrong one!

Love James! I have a James and I don't know any of his age or slightly older.

I much prefer Luke to Lucas. Lucas reminds with 'mucus', which is trivial but puts me off a bit. It's too trendy, too 2000s, for me.

I like James and Matthew but really dislike Lucas (no idea why). All a good, solid names.

I know a couple of wee James' (3 wks & 3yrs) but no Matthew's. If you are worried about popularity & planning on living in the same area you could always ask the midwife if many of your names have been norm lately?

James is my most favourite boys name.

All great, real names, without trying hard to be quirky.

Matthew is lovely.

That's in order of my faves. All good strong names though.

Lucas would be my first choice. I like James as a middle name (and have used it as such for my DS )
I detest Matthew, but it didn't stop me marrying one lol.
