I like it

Svrider · 17/04/2012 14:25

I think it's lovely

squoosh · 17/04/2012 14:28

It's quite nice if a tad Disney.

ripsishere · 17/04/2012 14:30

I really don't like it. Possibly because we spent four years in Thailand and every western child born there seemed to be called either Jasmine or Mali or because I don't like the smell.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 17/04/2012 18:57

I think it's really pretty :)

mummybare · 17/04/2012 18:59

I like it, and Jas - pronounced with an 's' or 'z' sound - is also lovely as a nn, or even Mini for a little 'un.

Safmellow · 17/04/2012 19:00

Love it :)

CoteDAzur · 17/04/2012 19:02

It is a predominantly Arab/Muslim name, but seems to be crossing over in recent years.

nizlopi · 17/04/2012 19:02

Really pretty

toobreathless · 17/04/2012 19:09

Not my thing personally but I think it's a perfectly pleasant, not overused name.

thereistheball · 17/04/2012 20:59

I like it, but not Jas/z, which is what it will get shortened to.

Psammead · 17/04/2012 21:16

FIL tried to push this name on us for DD. I cannot put my finger on why I am not very keen on it. It's perfectly nice, but a bit.... no idea.

Quickchangemcchange · 17/04/2012 21:32

My dd is Jasmine. Love the name, she is one of 3 in her school year of 170 girls.

The only one she hates is Jasman!!

rachel234 · 17/04/2012 21:32

It wouldn't be my choice, but don't let that put you off Smile.

welovesausagedogs · 17/04/2012 22:25

It's a lovely name.

Jas · 17/04/2012 22:32

I think of DD1 Grin
She is nearly 13, and is mostly Jas/Jaz now.

agreetodisagree · 17/04/2012 22:37

Love it.
Also love Jazz as a nn.
Also love a whole new world.
Wink

My niece is a Jasmine and was Minnie when she was very little. No-one calls her Jas or any other variant yet (she's 8 in July). Dsis and her DH live in Italy so wanted something pronounceable and spellable in both UK and Italy, it sounds very nice with an Italian accent!

ragged · 18/04/2012 17:10

Every other family has one: that's what I think. Around here, anyway.

flipflopper · 18/04/2012 17:13

I think it's a beautiful name.
