DP and I just can't agree on any!

my dp is set on Sophia for a girl and Caine for a boy! I compromised with Sophia and we can agree on Sophie as a possible name. However any boys names I suggest are completely disregarded by my DP we have a short list so to speak but I don't think either of us are truly happy with them;

Sophie, Scarlett, ruby and Adam,Elliott and Noah?

Whenever I try to bring this up with DP he seems to think these are our names now but I don't think they are :(

We have looked online, in baby books even through the paper to see if anything stands out.

Don't compromise on a name. It should be something you both love ideally.
What sort of names do YOU like?

That's easy Amelia iris (iris after DP mum) for a girl I have loved from day one.

I like zac, Finley and Oliver for a boy and would lime Samuel or Harry as a middle name after my grandfathers, possibly Samuel Harry vs Harry Samuel?

I love Amelia iris. It's very pretty. I think Oliver Samuel has a nice ring to it.

What's DPs reasoning for disregarding them?

You need to have joint agreement on names, don't put be put off cos your DP is sticking is head in the sand to new suggestions. And don't be the one to make all the compromises.

DP just says he doesnt like them and thats it. Not sure what other suggestions i have to talk DP round to re-opening the whole which name? we both found it quite stressful and i think DP is sticking with the above because thats all we agreed on at the time, but they just arent 'the one'

Just say 'DP, I'm not happy with our baby names. We need to discuss it again'.

After discussions this evening we finally have our names and even middle names to go with them!!! :)
