List of all babies born at my local hospital - MARCH 2012

It's that time! Sorry a bit late, took the hospital website ages to update all the way - we were stuck on March 29 for over a week. For those who haven't seen before: I've also done December 2011, Jan 2012 and Feb 2012. I live in the Midwestern part of the USA. My local hospital asks all parents if they would like their baby listed on the site - the ones you see here are the ones who agreed. Smile

Some very interesting choices this month!!!!! Feel free to weigh in any and all opinons!

Dystany, oh dear.

Flightty · 12/04/2012 10:18

Gotta love the Americans for brazen creativity Smile

Thanks Fishpond, it's brilliant.

BooMagoo · 12/04/2012 10:18

Journey???

Flightty · 12/04/2012 10:19

And SOMEHOW they get away with it - try that nonsense over here and you look like a right eejit.

But in the USA it just seems like, that's the way it is, and why the heck not?

I like the attitude.

PinkPolkaDots · 12/04/2012 10:20

Montreal? Hmm

Cortina · 12/04/2012 10:20

Why do they change the sex of names in the US - so Brooklyn was a boy's name that became a girl's name and Harper is now a boy's name? Confused.

Flimflammery · 12/04/2012 10:26

If Kylan is pronounced Kai-lan - it's a kind of spinach in Chinese.
If it's pronounced Kill-en - it's a bit creepy...

stressheaderic · 12/04/2012 10:28

Dystany is my stand-out favourite :-)

Some bonkers spellings. Don't even know how to say Antanyiah...

DuelingFanjo · 12/04/2012 10:31

is Bryleigh a name? Or Brelie?

what the Actual F is Emileigh about?

JOurney?

eh!?

duchesse · 12/04/2012 10:40

Well, some of those are lovely, some are made-up, some are just misspellings, some are very American and some I absolutely loathe. About what you'd expect really I guess.

How's the pregnancy going Fishpond? We don't see you on the frugality thread any more!

Cortina · 12/04/2012 12:12

Dystany looks like Dysentry to me.

thatsnotmypineapple · 12/04/2012 16:03

For some reason Roger is the one that stands out to me most. I haven't met anyone under the age of 40 called Roger. It must be due a comeback...

Fishpond · 12/04/2012 16:56

Pineapple I have a feeling the Roger was likely named after a family member - I know of no other little Rogers!

Duchesse - I need to come back to the thread, can you link it here for me? I'm doing well thanks 26 weeks and counting!

I also Hmm'Ed at Montreal and Dystany. Don't worry not all Americans have terrible taste Grin

BalloonSlayer · 12/04/2012 17:05

Dystany! . . . I thought "Dynasty, blimey!" then I thought "oh, no, my mistake, its Destiny with a y" and then I thought "Dysentery, oh dear."

Interesting that Bailey and Riley are coming up on the girls' list - they are boys' names here, aren't they?

And TWO Larkins, eh? (would be tempted to put THAT poem in their "new baby" card TBH)

duchesse · 12/04/2012 19:17

Here ya goes.

flixy102 · 12/04/2012 20:58

Nova! As in the crap old car?? Or conceived in Nova Scotia perhaps! Grin

Wiggy29 · 12/04/2012 22:44

Interesting reading, cheers.

mythical · 14/04/2012 15:56

Antanyiah - Antonia?

anewmotivatedme · 14/04/2012 16:18

Bue · 14/04/2012 17:34

Haha, this is great.

Montreal does not even begin to work as a name.

mathanxiety · 14/04/2012 20:02

'And SOMEHOW they get away with it - try that nonsense over here and you look like a right eejit.
But in the USA it just seems like, that's the way it is, and why the heck not? '

Oh believe me they look like right eejits to more discerning eyes in the US. And some of the names announce the ethnicity of the bearers too.

DilysPrice · 14/04/2012 20:14

There's the making of a best selling fantasy trilogy in there - Amarion, Broalyn, Gavian, Jadiel and Ketzia are clearly competing for the throne of Dystany.

Fishpond · 14/04/2012 21:39

Hahaaaaaaa Dilys love it Grin

mathanxiety · 14/04/2012 21:42

It will be filmed in Montreal.

YouChangeWithTheWeather · 14/04/2012 21:49

Khylie?

And Larkin - how odd there are two?
