Can I throw Natalia in as an alternative to Natalie, I know someone with the name and think it is very pretty. Also, doesn't end in ie then and could have Talia as nn.

Paloma nn Pip -- Love Paloma; Pip seems to shortchange it a bit. Do you need a nn? Paloma is so nice I would be tempted to not use a nn at all.
Mariella nn Ella/Elle -- too fluffy imo and Ella/Elle (and Ellie) is short for every girls' name from Eleanor to Elfrieda.
Natalie nn Natnat -- Natalie is an 'ie/ey' name and refers to Christmas but I don't think it's very obvious the way Holly is. NatNat is a nn I don't really like, though I like Natalie. I prefer Natalia.
Nancy -- is a nn of Anne (and anther 'ie/ey' name) though it can be used as a name unto itself. How about Nan or Nance as a nn? I like the name.
Elizabeth nn Bet -- Like Elizabeth very much and also Bet (or Bette) as a nn.
Isadora nn Dora -- Lovely
Theadora nn Ted/Dora -- Lovely, I would be inclined to use Teddie instead of Ted.
Arabella nn Bella -- Arabella nice, Bella a common nn for Isabella, Annabella, etc. so there are lots of Bellas..

Edward nn Ted -- Lovely
Alistair nn Al -- Lovely
William nn Bill or Will -- Lovely

Boys' names -- can't go wrong.
Girls' names:
Paloma
Natalia (prefer over Natalie)
Elizabeth
Isadora
would be my favourites.

Paloma nn Pip - don't like: Philippa/Pip better
Mariella nn Ella/Elle - don't like
Natalie nn Natnat - Natnat is ridiculous - sorry but it is
Nancy nn ??? - ok and doesn't need a nn
Elizabeth nn Bet??? - lovely
Isadora nn Dora - love Isadora but not Dora
Theadora nn Ted/Dora - don't like

Edward nn Ted - lovely
Alistair nn Al - don't like
William nn Bill or Will - ok

Love the idea of a girl called Ted. Am thinking of a short haired, suave, jodhpur wearing lass who takes no shit nonsense. Brilliant.

birthdaygurl · 09/04/2012 20:55

Thanks for opinions, I have broken my own rules (spongey brain) so natalie out, not keen on natalia. Nancy out too!!
