You called your son Lindsay?

doctordwt · 31/03/2012 09:31

Well I know a girl who spells it Lindsey so assume lots of boys use the female spelling too. Also not sure if in Scotland the female spelling Lindsay might be unisex?

Lindsey/Lindsay is traditionally a male name, nothing wrong with that. I know a male Lynn as well, it used to be very popular in Wales. Good to see these names being reclaimed for boys.

I double checked and Lindsay is from Lincolshire!!! - sorry thought it was scottish due to there being a tartan in the name (presumed it was a clan name. I think it's great it's being reclaimed for boys, I know quite a few men up here called Lindsay. I much prefer it as a boys name. xx

I know a Lindsay whose brother is Alexander (Alex). I think Lindsay and Alex sound great together.
