i like them both, as does dh, but he thinks the baby needs a more formal name whereas I don't mind either way. Any suggestions for a more 'grown up name' cheers!

I know a Callie who's a Caroline.

picnicbasketcase · 18/03/2012 15:43

Cassiopeia

Calendula

Maybe not though.

sleeplessinderbyshire · 18/03/2012 15:45

Callie is traditionally the abbreviated name for Caroline. I know a little girl called Callie who is just Callie with no long version though. Cassie is short for Cassandra usually

Alligatorpie · 18/03/2012 17:06

So far I think casserole is my favorite.

I like Callie but not Cassandra and I have negative associations with a Caroline, so that won't work either.

I guess I am scratching them both! Thanks for the help!

I rather like Cassidy for Cassie - I know it's not really a girls name, but it is rather lovely.

tigrou · 20/03/2012 09:42

I always thought Callie was short for Caroline.
I know a baby called Cassiopée, which is a lovely long version for Cassie.

Bluebell99 · 20/03/2012 09:44

I know a Cassie whose full name is Catherine.

squoosh · 20/03/2012 10:09

Definitely not Cassidy, it's a surname.

I really like Cassia and would always assume Callie was short for Caroline.

Anonymumous · 20/03/2012 11:03

Calanthe or Calanthea - meaning beautiful blossom.
Calista - meaning most beautiful woman.
Callidora - gift of beauty.
Calligenia - daughter of beauty.

The 'Callie' names have some gorgeous meanings! :)

babyblabber · 20/03/2012 15:06

Doing family history, I found out that my grandmother Caroline's nickname was Cal. How cool is that?
