Murphy-or am I mad?!

Currently expecting DS2 and may be going bonkers but today I've decided I quite like the name Murphy..... Struggled with boys names the first time and this time is no different, DS1 is Fred so need something relatively traditional but don't want to risk there being 5 other children with the same name in the class etc. Any thoughts??

It's a surname, so you'll curse him to a lifetime of saying "no, you've got it the wrong way round, Murphy is my first name." or "no, it's not a double barrelled name, Murphy is my first name."

what do you think of muireach? pronounced mwur ack and means man of the sea in Irish. similar sounds there?

Why would you choose this name if you have no Irish connections?

If you are in Scotland then how about Murdo? Or Munro? Or if you are really brave Mungo!!
