Hi, I have always loved Kitty, but we can't use it. Am also concerned it is becoming quite popular round here. Can anyone suggest a name like Kitty (preferably ending in -y/ie sound) that is perhaps not so current?

Thanks

It is?

I waited more than 20 years to be able to use that for my daughter (fell in love with the name after hearing it in a Pogues song back in the dawn of time). Although we do have a different name it is 'short' for on her birth certificate, so she has options if she decides she wants to be known as something else.

Mikki?

When I had my DD, I wanted to call her Kitsy (I think pregnancy was sending my eyes a bit funny, and I misread Kitty DAisy as Kitsy!!) but my other half didnt want to. If I'd have had a 2nd DD, I would have gone for it then, but we had a DS!

I dont know what you think, but I love it.

Lottie can be short for Liselotte (germanic name).

shockers · 07/03/2012 18:46

Hattie, Essie, Letty (short for Lettice, a very old English name that DH refused to even consider for DD).

Clareypen · 07/03/2012 18:50

Hattie, as in Harriet

Lottie could be short for Carlotta.

TiddlerIsTardy · 07/03/2012 19:42

I've got a Kitty, and want an Ettie, maybe short for Harriet or Juliet.

TiddlerIsTardy · 07/03/2012 19:42

MsF1t · 08/03/2012 14:18

Oo, I love Keturah. Nice find.

(Similar to the middle name my daughter was going to have 'til MIL stuck her oar in!)

MsF1t · 08/03/2012 14:38

Saffi, short for Saphire/Safira. Or Suki (Susan, Susannah).

Or, if you still don't like any of these, just go with the one you liked in the first place, what the Hell.
