Like Delilah best out of those.

Not keen on Penny which Penelope would inevitably get shortened too and not a great fan of Athene either.

jaffacakehips · 05/03/2012 14:12

Ohhhh Penelope, Delilah in that order.

Athena would be better than Athene imo. I just love that name.

Crazytictac · 05/03/2012 14:17

Delilah

SomeBroad · 05/03/2012 14:59

I like Penelope.

Delilah is a pretty sound, but the biblical connotations are just too kuch for me...not to mention the Tom Jones song!

Prefer Athena to Athene.

Was at school with an Athene. Lovely name. Also like Athina (but only that spelling).
Not wild on the other 2.

BombayBaby · 05/03/2012 15:52

I prefer Athene, although I do like Penny as a nickname for Penelope..

marshmallowpies · 05/03/2012 17:13

Athene I think is a lovely name. 'Athena' a few years ago would have connotations of the poster shop (and the tennis girl scratching her bum!) but as the shops have all disappeared now I think Athene/Athena/Athina all deserve to be reclaimed!

Delilah makes me think of Tom Jones I'm afraid "Why, Why, Why..." and Penelope is a funny one...I feel like I ought to like it, it's interesting, Penny is a nice nickname, it's got a pleasing 'trips off the tongue' sound to it, but somehow I just don't like it. Weird.

EllenParsons · 05/03/2012 19:27

Delilah and Penelope are quite nice. I like just Lila more than Delilah though as it's less frilly and doesn't have the song associations.

CheerfulYank · 05/03/2012 19:42

I like Penelope best. It has lovely nn potential...Penny, Poppy, or even Piper or Pippa IMO. (Prepares to be flamed)

Kayzr · 05/03/2012 19:44

I love Penelope. I prefer Athena over Athene and just plain no to Delilah.

Rhubarbgarden · 05/03/2012 19:51

Penelope.

AnonymousBird · 05/03/2012 19:55

I like Penelope. Can shorten to Pea as Penny is really grim?

How about Xanthe? or Xavora, if you like the Ancient sounding names?
