Can I ask your opinion on these names?

We already have two DC: Helena and Wilfred, so we need a name that 'fits' with these.

Boys:
Alec Sebastian
Dominic John
Hugh Benjamin

Girls:
Caroline Mary
Edith Rosalind
Evelyn Hazel

Don't much like Edith (sounds like a wizened old lady to me) but otherwise I think you have extremely good taste. I am slightly surprised that you have them all in pairs like that as I didn't realise that people chose names that way. I assumed that everyone chose a first name first and then picked a middle name from the ones that are left over. What is wrong with Alec Benjamin or Caroline Hazel?

Dominic John is fab - easily the best of the boys IMO, v strong and classic without being boring.

Not mad on Alec (prefer Alexander or Alistair/Alastair, sound more complete) but Sebastian is good. Not mad on Hugh (sounds a bit middle aged - prefer Hugo) but Benjamin is good.

The girls are all nice enough. I really like Caroline and Evelyn but if popularity bothers you, beware that Evelyn might become another Evie! I'd probably go Caroline Mary.

You have excellent taste, but then I probably would say that as my DD is Hazel Jane & we have Helena & Caroline on the list for a potential DD2.

Sebastian: meh, not for me personally.

Alec: my favourite of these three.

Evelyn: beautiful but like poster above the popularity of Eva/Evie would concern me.
Edith: love, would it be shortened to Edie? If so again the popularity of similar sounding Evie would put me off.
Caroline: love!

You can't possibly hope to please everyone in the world, so just go with the names that you and your DH / DP like best.

All of these names go with your other children's names, and are names that will see them into adulthood without embarrassment. There are also possibilities of shortening them all. They are all great.

For the record, I like Alec Sebastian and Edith Rosalind the best.

I really like Dominic and Hugh, but not Alec at all, sorry.

I don't like Hazel, Evelyn is ok (would be worried about shortening to Evie), but Edith is gorgeous - the best by far. Rosalind is also very pretty - have you considered that as a first name? It goes very nicely with Wilfred and Helena.

Thanks everyone. For the record, my favourites are Hugh Benjamin or Edith Rosalind, while DH prefers Alec Sebastian or Caroline Mary (although he's suddenly keen on Felix - which makes me think of cat food). The others are our current 'compromise' names - fortunately we've still got a few months left to make up our minds.

Loive the names Sebastian and Benjamin, but Alec and Hugh are not nice nmaes, for me. Srry.

I love Mary and Hazel. No to the other names, sorry. Caroline is dated and not due a comeback. Evelyn is not a great name. Rosalind is OK - much prefer Rosa or Rosanna.

Evelyn Hazel - both fine names, but not to my tastes.

I'd go for Helena, Wilf and Sebastian or Helena, Wilf and Rosalind (prefer Rosalie though).
