FFS! DH has now confessed he doesn't actually like our girls name!

Almost 36 weeks pregnant. I need to be sorted and know what I'm calling the baby before it's born (for purely impatient/irrational purposes)

For weeks now DH and I have agreed that if it's a girl (which is a huge possibility) she will be called Zara. Now he's suddenly confessed he doesn't like it. He suggested Sara but that doesn't sit right with me Confused

I've rejected other names on our shortlist for various stupid reasons -

Elsa - what if she gets called Ellie (which I don't like) or Elsa the elephant?! (see the irrational coming out again?)

Cara - lovely but doesn't go with middle name

Katrina - lovely but don't like Kat

Help! I need a name!

Sorry, should add the middle name will be Carolyn and we have a DD already called Faye.

FriskyMare · 18/02/2012 16:45

Love Carolyn - can't you use that as a first name?

GossipMonger · 18/02/2012 16:46

All the Katrina's I know are definitely Katrina and not Kat if that helps at all.

Annabel Carolyn

Romilly Carolyn

Thea Carolyn

Grace Carolyn

Beatrice Carolyn

ggirl · 18/02/2012 16:48

yes call her carolyn ,nn cara

PoultryInMotion · 18/02/2012 16:53

cece Yasmin makes me think of the contraceptive pill I was on for a while Grin I do like Jasmine but wasn't sure how it sounded with Carolyn

FriskyMare I love it too very much but at the risk of outing myself completely it's my mother's name (who I'm very close to) and didn't want to get into a 'big Carol' 'little Carol' type situation.

GossipMonger That's reassuring, I know we could always refuse to shorten but it seems to automatically happen at school. I don't have anything against shortening names (I'm rarely called my full name!) but I'm just not keen on Kat. Grace is lovely I just wish two of my friends hadn't already pinched it Grin

PoultryInMotion · 19/02/2012 15:09

Alicia is lovely, a bit worried about how it is said in a really strong version of our regional accent but then neither me nor DH have really strong accents

Also liking Lara (even if DH did immediately say 'Croft' and also Lorna

Keep them coming please, you all seem to have far more imagination than me Grin

I'd go Cara Carolyn, nn CC/CeCe.. very sweet.

PoultryInMotion · 20/02/2012 10:05

I never thought of CC, it sounds really cute! I was worried she'd get called CaCa that's why I'd avoided it Confused

Cara was always my favourite name from the start.
