Hi,
Would love to hear your thoughts on my 2 girls names please.
Im due in 12 weeks and would love to have our baby girls name choosen before her arrival.
I was originally going to stick with Willow, but i really dont like the shorten versions that i have heard for this name..
I quite like Lola, but our 9 month old dd is called Lily, so not too sure if it would be good to use the same initals.
We also have a 7 year old dd, named Summer and a 6 year old ds, named Dylan.

I love your children's names so far, but Lola is very like Lily.
I can't say I like Willow very much, I know a little boy called this!

Bonsoir · 18/02/2012 15:17

Summer
Dylan
Lola

and...

I think you should choose a name without any /l/ sounds!

Cara
Daisy
Rosa

I think willow sounds lovely with your other children's names. Lola is too similar IMO.

My dd said to me the other day "mummy people will call the baby Wil for short, and its a boys name or willy lol", so that has kind of put me off now, as she's probably right... I dont want my child to have a name which she'll be teased with, which is a real shame as i really did like the name, but now im really unsure about it.

I think Willow is georgous.Consider Jola

Chubfuddler · 18/02/2012 22:18

Willow is a hippy name. Lola is a pre operative transexual. Don't.

Kayzr · 18/02/2012 22:20

I prefer Willow with the names you already have.

NotAnotherNewNappy · 18/02/2012 22:46

Willow Sounds beautiful with your other children's names. It is rising in popularity so I really don't think she will get bullied.

inmysparetime · 18/02/2012 22:49

How about a different tree-based name like holly or hazel?

dandelionss · 19/02/2012 12:41

I think 'Lola' could be a pet form of 'Willow'. I like the name , I just wonder whether people will see it and not know if it's male or female.Female friend called Rowan got booked onto a men's ward!

I like Willow. But can understand your reservations although children will find any way to pick on a childs name if they choose to.
For example I had a normal 80's name beginning with V. My surname was Morris so I was often teased with Morrisons constantly
If you like the name go for it :)

peeriebear · 19/02/2012 12:49

Lola is a lovely name but a bit too similar to Lily I think.
Monster, so was I, my surname was actually Morrison! Sigh.

I met her in a club down in North Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola
See-O-L-A cola.

She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.
I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not the world's most physical guy,
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walk like a woman and talk like a man
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Well, we drank champagne and danced all night,
Under electric candlelight,
She picked me up and sat me on her knee,
And said, "Little boy won't you come home with me?"

Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy,
But when I looked in her eyes,
Well I almost fell for my Lola,
Lo lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola

Lola lo lo lo lo Lola lo lo lo lo Lola

I pushed her away. I walked to the door.
I fell to the floor. I got down on my knees.
I looked at her, and she at me.

Well that's the way that I want it to stay.
And I always want it to be that way for my Lola.
Lo lo lo lo Lola.

Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls.
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world,
Except for Lola. Lo lo lo lo Lola.

Well I left home just a week before,
And I've never ever kissed a woman before,
But Lola smiled and took me by the hand,
And said, "Little boy, gonna make you a man."

Well I'm not the world's most masculine man,
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man,
And so is Lola.
Lo lo lo lo Lola. Lo lo lo lo Lola.

Lola lo lo lo lo Lola. Lola lo lo lo lo Lola

So, Willow. Grin

Nothing wrong with either name but is it just me or do they both sound just a little bit too much like Lily? Similar sounds are repeated in both Lola and Willow. I find them a bit of a tongue twister to say together: Lily & Lola, Lola & Lily; Lily & Willow, Willow & Lily. All 3 are lovely names but I'd keep looking if I were you for one that goes with your children's names a bit better.

Summer, Dylan, Lily & Hazel is a lovely suggestion. You might also like:
