Another possible girls name-what do you think?

Hi Girls
As you prob guessed from other threads I'm really trying to get my moms name(Mary)included in my girls name. How does this name work
Lola-Mary? Is it a bit of a mouth full? Full name would be Lola-Mary Catherine. Or would Lola-Mary be enough?

Do you need the hyphen?

Could it not just be Lola Mary Catherine?

Lola and/or Mary but not Lola-Mary.

You mentioned the names Polly, Molly and India Mary earlier - are these the names of your daughters or merely ones you are considering along with Lola-Mary?

Lola-Mary is an odd combination, in my opinion: one very modern, one very traditional. It doesn't work for me and I don't think it flows particularly well either. Mary-Lola sounds better to my ear but I think it's still a very clunky combination. Not my style! Everyone I know with a hyphenated name is inevitably called only the first.

Go with Lola Mary Catherine (first name, two middle names) instead. I personally really like the other posters' suggestions of Marina and Mariella. The coil to which you referred is actually called the Mirena coil and I'd be surprised if many people were to make that connection. Certainly none of your daughter's classmates would!

I would use Marian/Marianne, Maribel, Maricela, Marie, Marielle, Mariella, Marina, Marcia or just plain Mary instead. There are some very pretty names related to Mary or with similar letters.

If you wish to pair Mary with another name to make a hyphenated first name, select something similar to it in style that flows well (e.g. Mary-Anne, Mary-Beth, Mary-Lou, Mary-Kate, etc.).

Lola Mary or Lola Mary Catherine without the hyphen is nice, but with hyphen is too much. I also like your idea India Mary (although I think of a song by Dido, something like Mary's in India now?)

Some names with Mary:
Marie
Marianne
Mariella
Marina
Marisa
Marissa
Rosemary

I think Rosemary would be good and time it made a bit of a comeback! Goes well with Catherine and can be shortened to Rose, Rosie or Mary. Although a lot of people may pronounce it Rosemarie I had a great friend who was always definitely Rosemary.

I'm sure whatever you choose will be fine though. We tooks ages to name our daughter (Francesca) and it was several months before I was really comfortable it was right for her and now she simply couldn't be anything else.
