How do you pronounce Evelyn?

I love this name, with nn Eve or Evie.
But do you say Eve-lyn or Ever-lyn?

I know an "Eve"-lynn and an "ev" -lynn so that doesn't really help does it ?

our old dog was called Evelyn - but he pronounced it Eev-lin :o

My Grandmother (who would be 100 if still alive) was born Eveline, but later changed the spelling to Evelyn (pronounced Eve-lyn) so presumably that was more fashionabel at the time (1920's).

Evv-lyn. My gran was Evaline (Ev-ah-leen), and one of my aunts (born 1903ish) was Mary Evelyn, so I think you may be right about changing name fashions of the early 20th C NadiaWadia.
