9 weeks to go & no girl's name

We decided on a boy's name for DC1 very easily (Isaac) but we can't agree on a girl's name.
I like:
Bethany
Alexandra
Grace

DH doesn't love any of them. Any ideas?

I might just give him a shortlist and say it's one of these and he can pick from it as getting fed up of him saying no to them all!!

Love all three of those :)

Does your DH have any ideas? What doesn't he like about the ones you suggested?

AliceInVunderland · 01/02/2012 21:43

I love them all but would be hesitant about Grace just because it has been so popular for a few years. There is nothing wrong with choosing a popular name, after all its popular because its a nice name, but I think its a bit of a shame when there are a handful of the same name in a school class.

cece · 01/02/2012 21:45

I think you need to rethink and find some that your DH likes.

FebreezeYourJeans · 01/02/2012 21:52

Eliza
Arden
Juliet
Miranda?

I like yours, but I agree you both have to love it. Back to the drawing board?

Littlecherublegs · 02/02/2012 10:52

Prefer Bethan to Bethany and Alexandria to Alexandra. Like Grace but it is popular.

How about:
Anna
Robyn
Molly
Hayley
Juliette
Carla
Helena
Dominique
Erica
Layla

??

crocodilesmiles · 02/02/2012 11:02

I think it's important that you both like the name as others have already said.

How about......

Daniella
Anna
Louisa
Zara
Lydia
Gina
Megan

I understand you getting impatient....Hope you find a name you love soon! x

Thank you for the replies. I think we may have had a breakthrough last night during a long car journey when we both said we liked Emily. I think I'd discounted E names as our surname begins with E but the alliteration sounds nice.
And Grace as a middle name.
Grin

Well I personally think Emily Grace is a fab name as thats what my youngest daughter is called Grin

FebreezeYourJeans · 02/02/2012 20:05

It's a nice name but uber popular, as long as that doesn't worry you. my 3 children know 11 Emily's between them!

FebreezeYourJeans · 02/02/2012 20:06

EEK HORRIBLE ROGUE APOSTROPHE ERROR!!!

Abandon thread!

Somersaults · 02/02/2012 20:21

We had no name until she was born! We decided on Caitlin Siobhan when she was about an hour old.

Somersaults · 02/02/2012 20:30

And Febreeze I just noticed a missed an apostrophe on another thread so by the Conservation of Apostophes Law which states that for every surplus apostrophe one is missing elsewhere we're even. So don't worry.

VintageNancy · 03/02/2012 03:15

Grin at the Conservation of Apostrophes Law!

I'm not too worried about popularity although I admit I didn't realise it was so quite so high in the charts! We decided in the car and hadn't actually looked it up.

We're in the US at the moment (we may well move back to UK in a couple of years) where it's almost as popular as in the UK. If you're interested, the US lists are here.

I love Caitlin Siobhan Somersaults.

:) Greatshakes - good choice!

So I wonder if this one will stick. It's not the first time we've decided on a name and then gone off it. We have 9 weeks to change our minds...
