We are having a ds in about 4 weeks and we cannot agree on a name for him. I really want to call him Theodore (Theo) with mn Jude. My dh wants to call him call him Peter with James or John as a middle name. I really dislike these names. I don't know if we are ever going to reach a compromise. Maybe it's the pg hormones, but I really don't want to compromise on a name I don't feel is right for our ds.

If you don't like the names the other has chosen, then it's back to the drawing board IMHO. Better to find a name you both quite like, than a name one of you loves but the other dislikes.

Would you like any of dh's names as a mn, that could be a compromise.

What about Leo? Would dh maybe go for that?

If you don't like each other's current favourites, you both have to let them go and start again- sorry.

wait til he pops out and see what he looks like!

I have two sons. Neither of them has the name I wanted. First one has name DH wanted (it's a family name). Second one we compromised on a name we both liked. I'm still sad I never got to use the name I love, but there are other nice names out there. If you can't agree you'll have to start brainstorming again. I know it's hard to do when you've already found a name you love, but it has to be done.

Back to the drawing board, I'm afraid.

It's just as wrong for you to impose a name choice on DH, as it is for him onto you.
