Not currently pg (mc'd in Nov) but bored and prematurely milling over name combinations!

Can you give me opinions on these boys combos please?

(disclaimer: I know Keith is vile. It's a family name and a deal-breaker for DH!)

Henry Jude Keith Surname
Jude Alistair Keith Surname
Alistair Jude Keith Surname, known as Al

Thanks v much

Sorry to hear you mc'd..

I like Henry best followed by Alistair and not keen on Jude at all...of your options Alistair Jude Keith probably flows the best though!

Good luck!

PopcornBiscuit · 25/01/2012 12:07

Henry Jude Keith - OK, I like Henry but the combination sounds a bit lumpy somehow
Jude Alistair Keith - not so keen on Jude
Alistair Jude Keith - flows best and Alistair is classic but more unusual than Henry. Al is a good nickname too

birdofthenorth · 25/01/2012 12:08

Thanks!

Forgot to say Henry Alistair Keith is also an option

Henry Alistair Keith (or Alistair Henry Keith) would be fine.

Think about if initials will spell words though, e.g. if your surname starts with E then the initials would be HAKE (a fish).

birdofthenorth · 25/01/2012 12:12

Also, just Alistair Keith could be an option, which makes the long-initials-spelling-words a lower risk... but I have a niggling doubt that it's an awful name that wouldn't give the kid many options

Three great names. i like all three. If I had to pick I would probably go for Henry as a first name as it is such a timeless classic.

LouMacca · 25/01/2012 15:52

Love all three names and they are all quite different. I personally would go for Jude out of the three but Henry and Alistair are also great - you will be spoilt for choice! Best Wishes to you.

LaFilleSurLePont · 25/01/2012 16:59

Alistair, then Henry. I don't like Jude at all.

ChineapplePunk · 25/01/2012 22:05

I like Jude Alistair Keith. I am a bit biased though because, all things being well, my little boy will be called Jude when he arrives in a few months. :)

sparkle12mar08 · 26/01/2012 18:28

If you want to go the whole hog I rather like Alistair Jude Henry Keith - the rhythym of it is lovely!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 26/01/2012 18:34

Agree 100% with sparkle, although the only name I do like is Alistair.

birdofthenorth · 27/01/2012 09:22

Thanks everyone. Jude seems much more divisive than I thought; Alistair much better received than I imagined! Henry is the least offensive & most popular option perhaps, though I'd prefer something less high up the charts if I'm honest, though it does sound nice with our surname.

Henry Alistair Keith in that order (not keen on Jude)

Papyrus · 27/01/2012 12:37

Henry! Though I may be biased Wink

blouseenthusiast · 27/01/2012 12:39

Jude is the only really nice one of those names. Alistair v middle-aged. Henry OK

k4mi · 27/01/2012 17:52

I prefer Alistair out of the three. Not keen on Jude, Henry is OK but becoming popular and makes me think of old men!

What about Ali from Alistair as well as Al...sounds a bit younger and cuter perhaps when little.

Clareypen · 27/01/2012 19:06

love Jude its on our short list ) well My shortlist anyway!

mybootsaremuddy · 27/01/2012 21:49

Alistair Henry Keith or Henry Alistair Keith. DS3 was very nearly Alisdair but dh liked our other option better......... oh well maybe if we have a dc7 I will get my little AlisdairGrin

Clarabumps · 29/01/2012 08:02

Henry Jude..don't like Keith i'm afraid.
