Just as the title suggests, do you like this girls' name? Would you like it as YOUR name?

Hmm, I dunno. I see Annika, I hear Challenge....

ceebie · 24/01/2012 12:36

I like it.

I knew someone called Annick (pron. Anne-eek!). Awful trouble with mis-pronunciations and mis-spellings though. Think you have a better chance with Annika.

othersideofchannel · 24/01/2012 12:52

Lovely. Are you Swedish?

crocodilesmiles · 24/01/2012 13:05

No, I'm not Swedish. I just really like this name. Do you think it's one of those names that only really works if you have a connection to the place it orginates from?.....I really like it I just need reassurance!

I think it is a very lovely name. :)

Thanks efffy!

I love it. Think it works fine outside of Scandinavia, go for it! Ms Rice may spell hers Anneka anyway...?

Fluffmacduff · 25/01/2012 15:47

Love it.

I know an Anika pn Ann-ee-ka, which is also beautiful and would avoid the Challenge associations....

TheLaineyWayIsEssex · 25/01/2012 16:48

I knew an Annika ( pron A-knee-ka). Lovely, and unusual

mathanxiety · 25/01/2012 17:14

Lovely, and I don't think you need some sort of connection to use a name from somewhere else.

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 25/01/2012 23:04

I absolutely love it.

SlinkingOutsideInFrocks · 25/01/2012 23:48

I like it.

Goldenbear · 26/01/2012 00:46

This was on my list as my number one name but DP wasn't convinced. I do have a 'connection' but don't think you need one for this name!

CheshireDing · 26/01/2012 06:02

Lovely name and spelling.

I do think the same as Foxy but I don't think it matters as the generations growing up now don't know her.
