Am having number 2 baby this week and we have our boys name sorted. However I'm stuck with girls. DH loves Saskia, I like it but rejected it for dd, I quite like sylvie as does dh. Other names which I like but dh has vetoed are:
Clemency
Cordelia
Cassandra
Cassia
Aurelia
Cecily
Meredith

Please help as if a girl this child shall be nameless.
We both like margot for a middle name.
Dd1 is Imogen which I still love.

Sorry salvadory that was in response to Bonsoir and the comments that men don't go for bluestockings! Lots of "bluestockings" are married so presumably men are all different Shock

BackToBligg · 25/01/2012 09:29

I like Clemence. V. French.

shouldnotbehere · 25/01/2012 16:46

I like Sylvie / Sylvia

salvadory · 25/01/2012 19:53

Thanks everyone, think we've decided on margot frances (I still wanted clemency as a middle name but dh is v stubborn and actually I think Frances does 'go' with margot better).
I'm in tomorrow so get to meet him/her very soon fingers crossed. I feel much better with a name sorted :)

Good luck! :) Hope you report back at some stage!

Goldenbear · 26/01/2012 00:41

I like Sylvie the best. I see you've decided but what about Allegra, Virgil or Vanessa.
Personally, I think you have to wait to see them before you actually choose. My DD was going to be Esther but she came out with lots of dark wavy hair which I associated more with Alexandra - also on my list.

Good luck!

sabbatica · 26/01/2012 10:32

Sylvie. So pretty and musical.

I also love Mae, though not on the list!!

ViviPru · 26/01/2012 10:35

NONONO NO! Not Sylvie! (ViviPru's secret under-the-radar wonderful name I'm guarding fiercely against popularity :) )

seeker · 26/01/2012 14:17

Sylvia? Shortened to Sylvie ,l obviously- but Sylvia as a "Sunday name" in case she becomes a High Court Judge?

MerylStrop · 26/01/2012 14:26

Too late for that round here Vivi, I know three of them

I like Margot

It's got a bit of oomph

I'm with your DH on most of your names, apart from Cordelia, which I like, but still wouldn't use.

ViviPru · 26/01/2012 17:04

Well Meryl, that's discouraging but I'm hoping its a while before it hits deepest rural Leicestershire....

OriginalJamie · 26/01/2012 17:42

Lovely name

If you change your mind, would you consider Audrey?

Papyrus · 27/01/2012 18:57

Oh Margot Frances is lovely Grin congratulations on your snuggly new baby!

My DH also vetoed Clemency, but agreed we could use it as a middle name for DD2.

salvadory · 30/01/2012 06:14

Well it was a girl! Margot frances is now safely home to varied response to her name, my mum hates it (typical mum) but most of my friends like it (or are too polite to say otherwise). We definitely made the right choice and this is confirmed every time my 2 year old dd says her sisters name :) thanks everyone.
