Do you think I can go for the name Julia if my surname also starts with a j?

Don't see why not.

No problems unless your surname is Julius.
Julia is a lovely underused name IMO.

I think it sounds quite cool - say, Julia Jones or Julia Jackson, JJ for short. Julia is a lovely name, was on my shortlist for a girl because I like Roman names.

I think it's fine (certain first names might sound tacky with same initial surname but not Julia) assuming you don't have a "pornstar" surname if that makes sense!

If you don't mind that she may grow up to be a Marvel superhero. I wouldn't, personally (wouldn't mind, I mean! Would totally use Julia with a sn beginning J). I used to work with a woman called Juliette Jones, and I always thought that was a beautiful name :)

Theres a girl at ds' school called JJ which is short for 2 j names then she has a different surname, my sil has 2 r names and they go fine.
